I agree but the 4 tickets per ST for Liverpool meant all sorts of "glory hunters" ended up going and lots of us who sit through the crap year in year out missed out.

Make it 1 ticket per st and jobs a good un

 

People who never put a penny into the club until we get a big game; some of them went to Anfield while I had to watch on a big screen at Oakwell.

There's no such thing unless by "Glory" we mean people who turn out for the big games which is always going to happen e.g. 4,000 at MK Saturday 600 at Middlesbrough the week before. I've watched Barnsley for 50 odd years and in that time we've won absolutely bugger all in terms of trophies. We've flirted with the 3rd Division title but finished 2nd, same with 4th Division and the 2nd. We've won a play-off but that was when we finished 6th. So Glory-hunters and Barnsley are like chalk and cheese. The glory hunters are the Barnsley born and bred who support Man United, Arsenal, etc.not those who venture to the big matches. We'd have had 10,000 at Wembley if we didn't have a 25,000 big-games fans including wives and girlfriends, kids etc. It just shows that we could fill the ground every week if we were at the top of the Premier League.

I'm a classic part-timer. I live away and average 20 games a season home and away, not enough to warrant buying a season ticket. There are a lot more deserving than me to attend the City game, if I were to wangle it I wouldn't feel too guilty about it though.

I see you described ST holders as the "lifeblood" of the club. I once did that on here. All hell broke loose. Just hope Micky Finn dunt read it.

 

Didn't say that. I say they pay the majority of bills. Slightly different. Doesn't make you a better supporter than a bloke who's lapsed but was putting thousands in twenty years ago.

 

Bloody hell, youv,e just set me back years! My therapist won,t be happy, I thought i,d got over missing out on Liverpool match despite being a season tkt holder for 30 years. NURRRRSSSSSSSE!
