plugged my old I Pod into the laptop today and downloaded latest version of I Tunes, the laptop sees the Ipod as there is power going through to it however i tunes is not seeing the I pod as a device allowing me to sync.

is it probably a software/firmware issue on the I Pod?? if so im dammed if i can find out how to update it....

    any ideas ?

    Hmmm

    It should work.

Have you tried shutting down your PC and turning back on?

Also, try another USB port to link the iPod into. One of my hubs suddenly just stopped responding.

Also, I know it seems far fetched but make sure the connections are good and properly shoved home.
