No.... I was part of that badge building exercise when that badge came in...
Allan Clarke went for the white rose due to his obvious Leeds connection.
I was about 7 at the time and came up with a collier design that the club loved but the kit designers didn't.
That is btw a big fat FACT.
If I could use paint I'd show you it but unfortunately I can't and I've had too many sherries.
My old man drew a picture of a 1970s prostitute with big jugs.
The last bit was a complete and utter lie btw.

The Oakwell badge yes (or a modified version) but not the plain white rose....always hated that, it said nothing about the club at all, maybe incorporate a white rose into another design.
mostly agree... definatly needs changing... hate the current badge.... could go back to the old toby 1 where hes in the circular thing... like they did on the millenium season shirts.... but what do i know :S not keen on the white rose though... always make me think of leeds ( (
i've always liked the oakwell badge, it was white when allan clarke first came then a few seasons later they changed it to yellow
Agreed - current badge excellent, professional, dignified and say's something about Barnsley's proud industrial heritage. Toby Tyke?? - What message would that give out??- oh yeah, Cartoon Character - Cartoon Club. No thanks.
Well said Disco.......... (Y) I'm all for the current badge. We should have had it years ago. There's summat 'traditional' about it too (?)
Why was it that when we were in the prem and in matches since they portrayed our badge as the toby tyke roundel? was it sky tekkin the piss or what? does anyone know? (chinny)
RE: Well said Disco.......... Too right mate. I think the suits would call it 'corporate branding'. The current logo gives off much better vibes than Toby Tyke. ....and yes, i reckon Sky and BBC 1 are taking the piss by showing the old Toby Tyke logo. Eithe that , or they simply don't do their research.
We should not adopt the white rose on our badge as it has always been part of the Leeds United emblem.
