Think it was with regard to the 1983 pigs win and a former player said teams used to fear us because we were a really good away team. Really? i think nothings changed, 5 or 6 away wins a season through 70s/80s and two seasons ago, our first back in the Championship we won 6 and l think we will have around that many this time. When looking back do some people exaggerate how good we were during those 78/79 & 80/81 promotions, 81/82 season we just missed out again but whats the difference to those promotion winning teams to what we have now, a couple of promotions and a FA cup semi under our belt. A lot of it is down to when you started watching the reds. Football like life in general always seems better when your younger. But going back to the Glavin era they were a great entertaining team and held there own and even had their own cup run.
The 80-81 promotion team had i think 8 or 9 away wins not sure bout 83 though, we weren't that good then, but i reckon the 81-82 season (first season in div2) we probably had 6 or 7
