I’ve a feeling that things will be looking a lot more rosier, I’m basing it on nothing but guess work and blind optimism, I don’t believe for one minute our owners will be letting players go and just going with the squad we’ve got #happyclapper
I would say its hard for it to look less rosy - but I have been caught out by that one before Hope you are right but dont share your blind optimism - its a hope rather than an expectation. We will know in a week or so
I wish I shared your optimism Roy 0ld love I really do That said it's very rarely you are wrong ...hope you are both well..... love to Gaynor
we will miss out on any new signings , and will not have a new manager/coach. Then on the 17th we will get hammered by Bristol.
Well, we won't have long to wait, Roy. Personally, I'm struggling to think of a time post Administration when the club wasn't in as big a crisis as currently.
Have you ever considered after dinner speaking, you will have them rolling in the aisles with your happy go lucky outlook , not sure I would buy a ticket to see you though .
I feel the confidence I felt when Robins took over just after the start of the 09/10 season. I always do feel confidence when I believe in the players and think they've been let down by their coach.
My most confident predictions are that we wont sign Whitemand or have a manager in place before the Bristol game. Suspect we'll see a new young full back in, maybe a young striker on loan. Doubt any experienced players will come in, with no head coach to influence the recruitment team.
I don't have any faith either, but even they can't look at this squad and think the best coaches in the world could turn it into a moderately competitive championship team, even if a solid first 11 was retained and started to hit top form, an injury or suspension or drop in form, particularly in the fullbacks or midfield, highlights how little depth there is. Seeing as we've lost Brown, Ludewig and Ritzmaier, we need 3 players at least and I just can't see them not doing that. Whether they are what the next coach values and needs is something altogether different, but there isnt much value assessing that yet as we dont have the full picture til the coach is appointed and the transfer window closes fully.
Not to mention Bambo and effectively Williams B for most of the season as well as cover in the squad like Dougall ( and Pinnilos Cavare and Thiam etc who could all have been useful in case of injuries)
I get what you're saying about the squad but it's the 11 that win you matches. I think our 11 is good enough providing the gaffer plays them correctly.
You aren't going to go 42 matches without suspensions, injuries and dips in form though, are you? And we're still placing a huge amount of pressure on Styles and Williams J who are both still 20.
Seeing as we've only got 2 fit fullbacks, theres no other choice to play Oduor (if he's fully recovered from his own injury). And we've so little competition in midfield we're expecting 3 young kids to compete for the starting positions with probably less than a dozen starts between them.
