I wished on them, but they were only satellites.

Indeed. Great song - lovely woman. Lives round the corner from me (or did - not seen her for a while). Used to go in the Glen pub regularly, always a smile, a chat and a hearty laugh.

Still can't believe Kirsty Maccoll has been dead for 15 years this year...(and yes I know Billy Bragg wrote it, and wrote the extra verse for Kirsty when she recorded it)

She seemed to disappear after that one in 1992.

One of my musical memories of my time in RAF Germany, 90-93. Probably the only time in my life when I would get up on the dance floor (in the Mess) and bop around completely un-selfconsciously. Probably because it was always crowded with plenty of other members without inhibitions, helped by bottles of Becks or Wobbly at about 80 pfenigs a go.

    Happy, VERY happy days :)

She died the same day Dave Bassett was sacked. Funny how things stick like that.

Sad loss, she was bl00dy superb.

Don't recall that name. I was at HQ RAFG and it was a big garrison including all the different UK and foreign services plus we had loads of personnel scattered around the country. Sadly all gone now but you can't blame the Germans for wanting the occupying forces out.
