the stewards, police, club etc where all over that smoke canister in their end. Not. Equillibrium eh, tilt.
When we go to an away game stewards are straight in there getting the cannister and chucking people out. That must have been the tenth team to set smoke cannisters off and nothing get done about it. Double standards and a load of ********. If the club chuck out home fans then they have to chuck out away fans too.
OR they waited until the end to pick up the person so as not to cause problems in the away end (as per normal practice).
Stewards the other week at Huddersfield having a good old rub down. Doyle Security on the otherhand showed themselves again last night at being inept in dealing with away fans. We should be getting rid of them and Lindleys.
The stewards or Police? Because people's experience at Doncaster wasn't the same . My point was there have been searches of home fans for smoke cannisters this season, are we doing that for away fans?
So one smoke bomb slips through their search of away fans of which there were 3,000ish and they are inept? Did you consider that going in mob handed to a crowd of 3,000 to apprehend one person might not be the best or safest way to apprehend the culrpit? Did you consider picking them up at half time or full time is a safer/easier way? This is what often happens unless an incident is deemed to be a risk to fan safety.
Yes I believe this has been happening before we started searching home fans as there have already been issues with smoke flares in the away end.
The situation at Donny wasn't the same though either was it? The cannisters were getting thrown around between away and home ends. Some fans were experiencing breathing difficulties. In this situation there was more of a safety issue prompting the stewards to go in at Donny.
My point is the apparent difference in treatment we have given away fans to home. We don't want to antagonise or go in heavy handed to away fans but we'll happily do it in the top corner of the Ponty to get 'em to sit in the right seats. Understand it's not an exact science but you can see why people get pissed off.
Well I've explained above why I think their was different treatment at Donny (having spoken to Andy Nicholson of Doyles the other week) I think people get pissed off because they think the stewards are "picking" on easy targets in young lads. The reality is that they have been causing problems in that area of the ponte and at away games all season and the club need them to sit in their allocated seats so they can identify them and take action to stamp this out. It seem these lads really think that they can "do what they want".
I've started this reply so many times and deleted it it's unreal. I understand the difficult position Doyle's are in - Andy came and told me himself on Saturday when he gave me my flag back (I still don't agree with him taking that down but it's a different matter for a different thread) and I'm going to meet them for the next fanzine for them to put their point across. But I do worry Gally that the ST (whilst the support of Jacob was very admirable and the right thing to do) are very much siding with the Club when it's apparent a lot of supporters have issues with the way that group have been treated. What are the club looking to stamp out exactly?
Plenty of away teams even with much smaller away followings than 3,400 have managed to get them in. Other incidents like the miners flag, Ponte altercations etc. I hope the fan was taken out long before half time. I don't see why a law breaker gets to see his champions elect team until full time.
Can you believe not 1 fan out of over 3000 suffered from breathing difficulties in the away end last night . Mmmmm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stewards went into the away crowd of 2000+ on Saturday and roughly dragged one bloke out and i have seen them do it on many times before, so whats the difference. I don't believe they did anything other than turn a blind eye last night. Much harder to get/locate the culprit walking out after the game than when hes sat in his seat I would have thought, and still among 3000 people
