dunno why, never really liked boxing. It did however confirm to me that in generally is just a load of staged rubbish. FFS, that jock he beat was a joke...90 fooking seconds? Just another big paluka paid a few quid to get whupped, to allow AJ to move forward. If that's how it is done, then fair enough and good luck to AJ (seems a nice fella) but why do people pay to watch this **** apart from to fill Hearns family pockets? bag a shlte
You dont like boxing so you watched it anyway and then moaned at people giving Hearn more money......
Hearn's a tremendous sales man. I'm a boxing fan & I watch most cards & in 2015 he's put on 2 good cards on Sky. Crolla & Quigg in July & Campbell & Coyle in August. Any other half decent cards are straight on PPV. He's gone down the wrestling model of loads of hype cards with mismatches building towards a PPV. It's working for him though. They sold 10,000+ in Leeds last weekend to watch Josh Warrington beat up on some bang average Australian plodder with an awful undercard & they sold about 13,000 tickets to watch Joshua & Whyte in mismatches to build towards their December PPV. The lad could sell sand to the Arabs
Never bought a ppv...never would..... Hearn is just following on from his favver.....doing it from scartch would prove much harder. Hth
Considering his dad had pretty much exited boxing, he is doing it from scratch. As for boxing being staged. Really? Gary Cornish fought last night with the intention to be the first boxer to hurt Anthony Joshua, and to be fair to him I don't think I've seen anyone start a fight on the front foot against AJ, walking forwards rather than backwards. Joshua is just that powerful, and that accurate. He doesn't appear to waste a single punch. Easy to sit there and call it rubbish, but his power is frightening.
Let's not forget that Gary Cornish had a 21-0 record until last night, more than a match in size as well, Joshua is from what I've seen, just that good!
Because that's a first in boxing ......... Randall Munroe? British and European Champion. Only took significant time off work when he trained for his world title fight in Japan.
He'd not fought anyone in the top 200 though. It's embarrassing how many fighters have upwards of 15 fights without fighting anyone who has a chance of winning
You stayed up to watch it? It was finished before MOTD started, what's thereevs usual bedtime? Difficult to match AJ properly with opposition. He's too good for the level he's fighting at but you can't rush things, and there's scant choices to fight against in the heavyweight division. Cornish was 21-0 and was a match on size. AJ needs to step up, White will be a slight step up but it'll go a similar way. As I said last night, I'm not sure anyone will live with AJs power and accuracy, he's got the speed of a middleweight, he really snaps his punches out. I'm hoping Fury gives him a fight.
