not just necessarily the players either, dont think many of our fans have got the B*ll*cks for a play off run in.
since when do fans need bottle!!?? Not heard that one before. The problem is the fans have no confidence in the players and we all know our league position is a bit over what we ought to be on the displays. From all the big games this season only the one against Colchester fetched a win and that was lucky! They hammered us at the end. So on the info from the rest of the season all the fans know that should we end up in the playoffs we pretty much expect not to win em! If we go a goal behind we cant come back to win. If we get a goal infront we struggle to increase that to a second and third and pretty much expect an equaliser because they dont have the mental toughness to carry it on a lot of the time. This is lack of leadership - especially at the back. Also in the middle we dont have a leader. Mcphail can dictate play but he wouldnt say boo to a goose! Hes too soft. He should be organising and shouting in the middle. Thats what we are missing IMHO - a strong character at the back and also a leader in the middle. Jacob wasnt very vocal but his workrate made up for some of that. We still lacked a leader even when he played. If we can get someone in like a redfearn type then we should be ok. Until then i worry about our chances - its not lack of bottle i know that much. Wonder if Redfean could still do it in the middle!
We are where we deserve to be. The league table doesn't lie I am afraid.
As we have won more than we have lost I would suggest we have a reasonable record of holding onto a lead as well.
