8 years old today & is currently sitting on the sofa, with headset & Nintendo DS. Not had a peep out of her all night. S)
Get her playing cricket Ahhh, the fresh air, the thwack of leather on willow, the gentle ripple of polite applause, long balmy afternoons on the deck chair, cucumber sandwiches, lashings of tea, and the famous barely audible "snick" which is the world's 2nd most beautiful sound. How can a Nintendo compete with that? P.S. Can she do teas in mid April? Oh, we need a scorer too. P.P.S. Many happy returns
When Summer comes The Nintendo will be a distant memory. In fact I can see 3 kids running around the cricket pitch, lap after lap. I can actually see her & her cousin doing scoring - the two of them arguing over how many balls in the over. Not the worst idea you've come up with. One day, I'll bring them down to watch a game & teach them how to score. I remember my brother teaching me & insisting we took a book with us to watch test matches. (doh)
