lincolnshire
well watch if yer get lost in Reading

1949,learning to drive at Aldershot
we used to drive around Rading
we had to learn how to DRY your Brakes out
after going thro a (FORD) a stream in the road
this one was a few hundred yard from a main road junction
two Trucks went thro after one another
the first one, mansged to stop,but the second just bumped in to first
just a bit of radiator damage
,back to camp repaired
back to the Ford ,near reading
only this time the instructor and the fitter were in the cab
the two trainess in the Back
the driver told the lads when i try the brakes i will blow my horn,
you hang on
every thing was ok,
but an Army ambulance
Came behind the rear of the truck
as he blew the horn
the lads waved to the ambulace frantically
the lads in the ambulance waved bac
then CRASH, the ambulnce ran into the back of the truck
the engine smashed thor to the saloon,
Fortunatley, no one was Hurt
