Walton Sollbaure, Helic J Williams Brittain Kane James Oduor Adebjeyo Woodrow Palmer Subs Collins Styles Mowatt Chaplin Frieser Anderson Miller Christie Davies Mike Bahre Still cant find room for Schmidt or Thomas unles i can have 11 subs.
Yes it's probably for the best, my changes though have a bit of thought behind them, Anderson still getting caught out and Williams was playing very well in a back 3. Oduor is more natural LWB, he is quick.tall, good delivery and will improve quickly with game time. James is too good to be on the bench and Kane showed his quality today. Vic deserves a run as everytime he's played recently he's got a goal and assists. Everyone can see how good Palmer is and he can be given some freedom to play further forward less pressure. Walton Helic Sollbaure Brittain Woodrow are shoe ins to play, I realise how good Styles and Mowatt are but we have strong competition for the central midfield spots all other places are up for grabs and whoever is playing the best should get a chance. I'm looking forward to seeing Davies and when fit I'd like to give Magic Mike one last chance in the front 3.
We know what the system will be, and it will never change, just crowbar whoever is fit and looking decent into that system and hope for the best. If that means playing mediocre forwards at wing back, like at Cardiff, then so be it. Assessing the merits of the squad isn't part of the plan, it's all about playing one way. So it's doomed to failure. Fortunately we have a few decent players who will prevent the failure being immediate, but it will come. If it was a good system I could understand the rigidity, but it isn't.
You are right, it's not overly relevant if it's Styles or Odour, Vic or Chaplin, Mowatt or James. Palmer can kick a football run, chase as per instructions so he can play front three. I've always said play our best players in a formation that gets the best out of them. I can assure everyone that as manager I wouldn't pick Palmer and Vic as strikers. I also wouldn't play Thomas there and to finish a championship game with a front 3 of Adebejo Miller and Frieser says it all really so my OP isn't as daft as first thought and exactly what you say other than defenders we are shoehorning anyone in and competing because we have some decent players who try and our opposition isn't that great
He needs more than 15 minute cameos or we will end up losing him and he ll move on to being a top player for someone else.
Id go for a 442 diamond Walton Brittain Solbauer Helik Williams James Kane Styles Palmer Woodrow Adeboyejo
Given Thomas started in the front three, there's definitely a case for Mowatt, Odour or Styles to play in that role ahead of him, with James and Kane in midfield. Probably need some training sessions to work on what they need to do off the ball in that role, so tomorrow's game might be a bit soon.
