.............back of the Chronicle today he says - he dosent want to spend to bring in players, he wants to develop his own players.

Thats ok in the long term, when you have time to develop those players.
But KH has only just taken over at the club, he has got the present squad playing some very attractive football, but we are obviously short of one or two quality strikers.
Given time I think KH would be able to diliver those quality strikers but in the short term we need those players now to push us up the league.
With what I have seen so far this season, I think one or maybe two quality loan strikers could propel us into the top 6

Agreed Hemsy, at this moment in time l would be quite happy to go with the squad we have got (when they're all fit) I dont know who people are expecting us to bring in to play the role of loan striker, holding the ball up and banging in over 20 goals a season, Ibrahimovic, Crouch, Dzeko? Majority of our goals will come from midfield this season with the formation we are playing.

Prediction for Cardiff.........we played them off the field and lost 2-1........

.................because we missed a cart load of chances........... OR / AND........... our midfielders got into some good positions but the strikers were unable to get on the end of the passes into their penalty area
Its not rocket science this..........its the same match report week after week after week

Championship clubs usually go with at least 4 strikers...........Barnsley has two - Haynes and Davies
And both these have been injured lately. We are very short on players, especially strikers.
We cannot wait while Keith Hill develops his own strikers...........we need one maybe two quality strikers NOW !!!

So Andy Gray isn't a striker?
The way we are playing a strikers performance is judged on more than goals.

    2 points nudge
    1) what wages would these 2 quality strikers command
    2) where is that money coming from

Compared to what the club allegedly spent last season..........

............we haven't spent nowt this season

In fact we sold our best player for £1 Million

So surely to goodness, considering how we are performing now, the directors could prime the pump a little bit

Re: Compared to what the club allegedly spent last season..........

Sorry nudger but Keith hill doesn't say that he doesn't want to buy players, he says "I am happy to compete from what I term to be an honest position developing players, signing players within a budget and bringing young players through with hard work on the training pitch. There are those who try to get there boards to spend money they don't have to buy in players rather than develop them. I'm just not that kind of manager"

You have taken his words and formulated your own ideas from it when infact he's saying he us resourcful and will use the budget when the right guys come along but won't solely rely on cash to be a good manager he will actually coach cajole and develop in an effort to make better use of the players at his disposal

Goes to show he must like what he sees in the academy youngsters which is good news for them at long last.

Your idea of where the club should be going is different to KH's though

You say we need to bring in quality players to push us up the league, that isn't Keith Hill's target, to finish as high as possible, his target is to retain our championship status with the small budget he has.

In an interview before the Burnley game KH rightfully pointed out that several clubs in league 1 (he named the Blunts, Wendies and Huddersfield) are spending big money just to gain championship status, whereas we're trying to retain ours on a much smaller budget.

I'm beginning to warm to KH and believe we'll be well safe of relegation by the end of the season with the players we have now, as I feel with more games under their belt, Davies, Vaz Te and Haynes have all got goals in them.
