Firstly without Patrick Cryne would we have a Barnsley Football Club? I cannot thank him enough for what he has done and how he has bankrolled the club over many years but also remember should BFC ever get taken over and also outrageously reach the promised land of the Premier league then he would get quite a lump some of money back.He clearly wants out of BFC for a number of reasons so until that time arises then the club is in limbo and will remain so. Don Rowing, the much maligned Don,well what can be said about him? Is he the voice of the club? In my opinion his limited talents and ability is spread too thin at the club and i feel he tries to be Jack of all trades but sadly is master of none.Ticketing policies, facilities, catering etc etc at the club have all been questioned but never improved on or lessons learned. Barry Taylor.Who? I am sorry but i am not sure what purpose he serves to the club. Do the above three constitute a board of directors? The club is in the dark ages and fresh blood and ideas and imput is urgently required.Let us also not forget that these gentlemen have also santioned many a number of managerial appointments so whilst the likes of Davey,Robins and Hill have had their critics just remember who employed them. Also player signings and player sales.Whilst a manager has his targets and budgets to work within the powers that be ultimately have the final say on who the club signs and sells. We have changed another manager (yet again) but also is it time for change at the helm?
Do you not think that's why Mr Cryne is trying to sell the club? If and a big if, if Mr Rowing had other staff members around him who could work on 1 specific area instead of being asked to perform them all himself he may well be very good at his job but I think he as been told to perform all duties to save on costs. For 6/7 years its worked to an extent but the time as certainly come for some other form of financial input, but all these posts saying its time for the board to go "and sack the don and Taylor" are in my opinion a tad unfair to the 3 blokes who've kept us in this league on a shoe string budget and remain 1 of a few clubs debt free.
I don't get why people think its so easy for the current Board to be gone. Cryne needs to sell up first, which is what he's trying to do.
Patrick Clyne is 100 per cent Barnsley. He would be thinking exactly what we were thinking and like us was pissed off with Hills team selection and player dealing. Unlike us he had the power to do something about it. If the ship is sinking don't stand and watch it go down, get baling.
