....for another year. 12 points above the drop zone. 20 goals better goal diff than bottom 3 (as good as a point). Safe. Well done lads
How many results went our way today eh? Did not expect us to get owt today. Well done Keith and the lads.
And not one of the teams below us in the league have won today. would like to think we can stick around a similar position for rest of season and have an outside interest in how the teams above us are doing, rather than looking for the results of the bottom 6
Depends which way you look at it Everyone below us in the table either lost or drew. Just about everyone above us won. If we're looking down the table then a great day. If we're looking up it, not so good.
Re: Depends which way you look at it Be nice to look up rather than worrying about below. Great team performance and result Reds. Its days like this that make you realise why we love our team so much!
Re: Depends which way you look at it I am more than happy looking down the table today. If we finish the season in the position we're in now it'd be a fantastic result for us. Anything better than that would be crackers. If we finish above Leeds, I am having a street party!
I don't know if I agree with you that it's job done But when you look at the table it's going to take an extraordinarily poor run for us to be relegated. We're well capable of having bad days, but we've proved we're also capable of having very good ones too. I think we'll have enough good days between now and the end of the season to hold our current position, which would be a good season. Get in the top half and it would be excellent.
Re: Depends which way you look at it Strange post Jay. If you look at it in the way of going towards securing our Championship status (as per the OP) then it was a great. Staying up has always been our primary goal. Hill has seemingly developed a strategy and players to do that. It's a good day. Enjoy it. The top half is of secondary importance this season, although who knows how far we can go in coming seasons under Hill.
I wish you would seall yor gob till we get past 50pts....... I am leaning towards your thinking matey...but I am a bit belt and braces, will breathe easy when we get past 50 points..... and lets hope its with half a dozen games to go at least. But today was a big ..nay HUGE 3points... well chuffed I could only see a draw at best, they also seemed good value for it too. Hopefully the next 3 games will take us into the 40pts zone
Its becoming an excellent season and I don't think we'll have a post Xmas collapse like in previous seasons. Looking up instead of looking down in Jan, well done Hill and Flitcroft.
I agree Hilly talks one step at a time, but is thinking two or three steps in advance, he even hinted at it today saying he wanted 20 more wins. Tongue in cheek yes, but he will push these guys to the limits. Once we are safe I suspect team talk will be along the lines of "how much do you want it boys - it's now or never for you, if you really want it lets go for it". One thing is for sure, they'll all be totally b@lloxed by the end of the season - but they might get the rewards: something incidentally, that wouldn't have happend with Robins. And I for one will applause them to the hilt for putting in the effort. I only hope Hillcroft don't get burn out, giving your all, all of the time is extremely hard to maintain.
