looking at the other clubs around us and at their remaining fixtures..we have the harshest run in...I just do not see us making it.
How about 2 wins and 3 draws ? Surely that's within the capabilities of a team that has beaten the likes of Watford, Bristol City, WBA, Ipswich, Wolves, Liverpool & Chelsea?
We don't need 3 wins - 2 at most. Since the introduction of 3 points for a win, no club has ever been relegated from the 2nd tier with more than 52 points (Millwall are the only club to go down with 52 points in 1994/95). There are so many clubs involved for one relegation place (discounting the bottom 2, 9 other clubs currently have less than 50 points), it is probably impossible for all of them to end up with 52 points or more, seeing as many have to play each other. We also have a good run in compared to Southampton. We will make it, just, because I think Colchester, Scnuthorpe, are dead and buried, can't see them reaching the total we have now. We will beat the Blunts on Saturday give us 49 points. We should get a further 4 or 5 points from the remaining matches without any problems. I cant see either Coventry or Liecester getting above 50 points. We will finish 3 places above the drop.
RE: coventry's run in aint too cracking either nt On the other hand, Leicester's run in looks like a cake walk!
I thought Blackpool were out of it but their run in is a shocker. Two wins and a draw for 53 points might just be enough for us but with our goal diffence we may need an extra point. I can't honestly see us beating the Blunts next week though and I can see us leaving it very late to escape if we do manage it. Still, as a Barnsley fan, would you expect it to be any different.....?
looking at the table... There are 4 or 5 clubs saying the same thing. It may be that a higher number of points than usual is needed. Also, given our run in, everyone else may as well have 4 games in hand on us, cos we just cant do anything away from home!
I think 50 will stay up lots of the bottom clubs play each other. Coventry and Soton have difficult runs ins.
Southampton have a tough run in... but i reckon all the clubs from Wednesday upwards will fancy their chances of getting to 50 points.
of course you don't see it i doubt very much that you see anything except the ego boost you get by winding every bugger up. sad, tiresome, old. as well as what you are doing
I did the predictor and got Southampton to go down.... ...on 49, with relegation confirmed the week before the last day. I think their run-in is a nightmare, plus my mate who's a saints fan says they're absolutely crap.
