I'm not one to take much notice of results or even performances in friendly games. I don't belive it matters one jot when it comes down to the serious business, I went down there yesterday more out of boredom than anything else. I wish I'd stayed at home. It was poor. I ended up watching the Olympics on my phone it was so poor. I don't remember a shot for Barnsley in the first 70 mins. In fact, I struggle to remember a chance of a shot. West Brom looked like they couldn't be arsed. It was slightly more interesting when Mido came on, but that interest probably wasn't for the right reasons. I wouldn't want to slate players individually, however, I do believe that there should be some entertainment provided. £12 isn't exactly cheap for a game that offered 90 mins of nothingness. . . .
Chesterfield v derby in a fortnight. It will be more than likely a sell out. Rotherham fair enough new ground. Sell out. Alfreton v Leeds. Sell out. Opportunity was missed to get some money in the coffers.
Part timer! I don't usually do friendly matches unless it's close to where I am or it's somewhere with decent night life for afterwards. Roll on 11th August!
Logic at oak well sometimes baffles me. Let's complain we are skint then play a game where we will lose money.
Away friendlies are OK as it's a chance to visit a ground you may not have visited before. Home friendlies though tend to disapoint I agree.
