They looked comfortable on the ball, especially in the first half.

I know it was a friendly and you really can't read too much into them, but for my money, we played well against a very good side.

Agreed...very nibble footed most of em and pacey always found a pass, and apart from that bit of brilliance from Daggers, in the first half we hardly trouble em...And who knows how many of them are regular starters...But like most on here thought, when our team changed so did the tempo and we started to get at em which was good to see...
Don't think our starting mid field worked... if Dawson can't get a place in the middle, then its the bench for him iam afraid., at home anyway, may work away.Cos we've better options, more attack minded..JOB, Tompole....But id go with Mellis down the right and Jennings left and see how that looks. But int that what pre-season is all about, experiment wi formations and team selections until it clicks...
But in the past ive found that the best team on paper is not always the team that gels...think that may be the case here...Someone nose may be pushed out a little, They'll just have to bide there time and wait for others to drop form, or injuries...

I didn't see the first half, but watched the second half online. I thought we pi55ed on em second half, apart from a couple of break aways by them. Up the Reds.

The young lads did very well in the second half and were a breath of fresh air.

    I'm hoping to see similar

In the remaining friendlies, too, along with an opportunity to watch Dale Jennings.

All of the young 'uns, mate

Digby, especially. But it was good to see Clark & the two defenders so comfortable with the ball and willing to be positive at every opportunity. I'm keen to see them all again and, hopefully, Friday night won't be a one off. It's important, in my opinion, to give things in context, though. I wouldn't want to put any unnecessary pressure on the young lads from witnessing them performing in pre season friendlies. I'm very pleased with what I've seen from them so far.

Okay, All of the younger players are decent on the ball. It's the way they do things in the Academy.

I know it was a friendly buy that was a decent result against a Europa league side who are almost ready to begin their season. very encouraging result.

    Good

The young lad at right back (I don't know his name, sorry) gave excellent support to Jim O'Brien up the wing, whilst still shouldering his defensive responsibilities.
