Then why have they sold a Player today

Martin Christensen has left Charlton for Italian Serie C side Rimini Calcio, the Addicks confirmed on Tuesday.

The young Danish winger was released having failed to make a first-team appearance for Charlton since joining from Herfolge Boldklub in March 2007.

Charlton chief executive Steve Waggott said: "This deal is a financially good one for the club and gives Martin the opportunity to kickstart his career with Rimini.

"There have been lengthy negotiations with a number of clubs across Europe and Martin's advisors for several months, and we believe this is a good resolution for all parties.”

I don't believe this embargo for one minute

Charlton have released players from their contracts (so it cant be about assets not leaving because they have). They have signed players and have offered new contracts too.

And portsmouth are in exactly the same position as Charlton, currently undergoing a take-over yet they sold a few players (crouch to tottenham included) and have signed players too.

Not only that but i've never seen anyone from charlton mention a transfer embargo, the only person ive seen mention it is simon davey.

    It just doesn't add up

Do you reckon he's involved with any government cover ups?

    Area 51?

    The Moon landings?

    Crop circles?

It may be that the new regime don't want any of the assets sold while the old regime are still in charge.

    Odd

4th August - Sportinglife says that davey is frustrated because a deal is in place but cant be rubber stamped due to a takeover being in place so there being a transfer embargo.

7th August - TeamTalk says charlton manager phil parkinson claims no deal has been agreed. "Barnsley have been talking to us all summer [about Gray], but at the moment the deal just doesn't add up and it's nowhere near the valuation we've got of the player"

Most odd, we say weve agreed a deal but a transfer embargo stops us signing him, they say no deal has been agreed and don't mention any embargo.
