I thought Haynes was a good player when played up front

And I didn't think I was alone in that. I thought that was the general consensus. Turns out everybody hates him and thought he was ****.

Then again I also thought Robins was a decent enough manager and it was only SM who didn't rate him. But when he left in the summer it turned out that no one ever liked him all along.

    I'm miles out of touch.

He is a good player when he hits top form, but his work ethic, attitude etc leaves a lot to be desired. He certainly doesn't fit the Hill DNA on that score.

Me too, I cringe at what is wrote about Robins on here, prior to the summer a large majority where quite happy with him steering the ship into the new season.

    I've always liked him, too

The same with Robins & Shackell.
It seems to be the rule that if a person is to leave the club, he automatically becomes arrogant, not committed, not very good anyway and we'll be better off without them.
However, if Haynes (or anyone else) doesn't fit in with the manager's plans, I have no problems with Keith Hill managing the club and squad as he sees fit.

    Me neither

If Hill wants to replace him with someone else, then fine. Although I'm not sure I believe the line that it's all down to football reasons. But that's by the by. For me he was a fast player who looked very dangerous when on the shoulder of the last defender. And that's true whether he continues to play for us or goes elsewhere.

    Re: Me neither

I suppose it comes down to how you define football reasons. If that means the way we play then I think he difinitely adds something to the squad and could have played very well alongside Davies. But if that means the overall success of the football club and Hill feels he does not have the attitude, work ethic etc and may unsettle the group dynamic then fine. Not that I am saying that is the case and have only heard the rumours on here, but Hill did qualify that he meant tactically and prefessionally (or soemthing to that end)

I'm assuming the club & manager are adopting a tactful and diplomatic approach

Over the issue, which I personally approve of. If there is any 'dirt laundry' in this situation, then I'd prefer it to be dealt with behind closed doors and not in public.
Hopefully, Keith Hill will be able to bring in a replacement with similar pace to Haynes, so we still have the option of a 'flyer' available to the team's selection.

He's never been given a decent run up front and neither manager utilised his pace properly.

    I think you're bang on

I think Keith Hill said exactly the right thing.

But that doesn't mean I believe it.

I always liked him and he had a good rapport with the fans when he was warming up during half time.

Makes no odds what we think, or what we think we know. Keith is in charge and you either trust him or not, to make the best decisions for our club.
Good luck to Danny Haynes and Mark Robins. Both did good and bad things while representing BFC, and thats football

Thought you'd like to know, mate, Christopher's just come out of the operating theatre after having had his other lung repaired. The procedure appears to have been a success.

    Good stuff mate.
Is there only Crystal in your family that is in decent health? I know you are always too ill to go shopping /carry shopping into house etc!

I am predicting now that when he leaves Oakwell, no-one will have liked him and they all thought he was arrogant!!:p

    Re: Shopping????

Well in that respect I would agree with them! He has. He is doing a decent job with the players on the pitch , but he is like all football managers , in that he talks some bull and drivel, just that some folk see it as being "refreshing and he tells it as he sees it".LOL:cool:
