Thus many on here didn't want him in the 1st place ? Plus what he said about us NEVER getting back to the Prem ? That upset a few. Ne'er mind though.
Anyhow, look a bit further than the boardroom for who really has let Ritchie down. Who really hasn't repaid his faith in them.
Players get managers sacked. End of.

RE: You didn't exactly No point. I'm just not surprised that's all.
I'm just fed up with it all.
Waiting to see what happens afore Thursday's deadline now.

RE: I can field that one re the deadline There must be something. 'Nothing' is why Ritchie's gone by't looks.
Anyway, off now to the boozer. See what the word is on the mean streets of Monk Bretton.

Football is a fickle place to work one day you're up, next your down. how many Wendy fans are still singing Sturrocks praises? Leeds, Norwich, Sheff Weds, QPR, West Brom, Leicester and Ipswich all sacked managers of recent that had done well for them not too long ago. what price Tilson getting the bullet if Southend dont start winning? No man bigger than the club.
Aye. One minute you like the Manager who dragged an average squad into the Championship & one phone call later you don't. I suppose your mate can hold his head up that he did his best to keep McPhail & sign Chopra.
RE: Football is a fickle place to work I don't disagree with that sentiment. However, haven't we shot ourselves in the foot with this one? Unless the relationship between GS and AR was completely irrepairable I don't see the point in sacking a manager if there is no obvious replacement. I could be proven wrong by a 'box office' appointment of course but i suspect we will struggle to attract a manager with the necessary quality and experience to keep us up. In my opinion, Ritchie was the best manager we could hope for...
If he was asked to match Ridsdales offer perhaps didnt make much financial sense. think McP went for the money, he'd tried to get a better deal the season afore and failed. I firmly believe that if we'd got Chopra we'd be midtable now. but I keep coming back to the quote from the programme "the manager asked the board to support him in giving the existing squad a chance." enoughs enough, we've been in need of signings for some time and the only thing Andy seemed interested in signing was a new contract. back me or sack me. hehe.....sorry.
Mmm. Your blinkers won't last long. Don't worry. Andy wanted McPhail, Lucketti, Shuker & Chopra - allegedly. Hat's off to Gord if he was involved in the signings of McIndoe & Togwell ... but neither of those have been regulars in the Championship - while 2 of Andy's were, one is arguably good enough for the Prem & the other is a dwarf. Andy shouldn't have been interested in his contract - you are right. Mainly 'cos he should've had a new one in the summer when he turned water into wine.
"Box Office" Manager? Like the "Box Office" players we were going to sign ... then **** ourselves when McPhail & Chopra wanted paying in cash, not cookers? Fully agree. Nevermind though. Gord can attract players. He got his next door neighbours cast off & a lad from Palace reserves ... no worries.
I'd have given him a new contract in the summer more fool me. the time to come to the Chairman and ask for a new deal is not when you're staring relegation in the face. did Andy demand a new contract in the summer? my memory aint all that, but dont recall much talk of it, could be wrong. Andy was Gordons choice remember. 'I' wanted Wilson, hehe....I reckon if the relationship has soured to the level where he's had no choice, its a terrible shame, but then again I've only got the one side to it. I eagerly await Ritchie's eloquent take on things.
Why not? why not a manager who can attract players, since the last one seemed to struggle. unless Dean Windass rates them. I'll grant you it looks fairly bleak now, but who was that no marks that got the worst team in the Championship winning games ready for Laws to take over. be interested to see the team selection for setdi if its someone within Andys backroom choosing it.
Kinell fire. Ritchie could reply by taking a dump next to the Radio Sheffield mic ... and he'd still be more eloquent than Mr "punch the ball to Blackpool Tower / Border Collie for a Manager". Like you say - we'll see what Ritchie says. If he comes out with "I didn't want McPhail, Lucketti, Chopra etc & wanted to stick with what we'd got ... and Box Office be damned" - then you're right. I just hope Gord never phones you & asks if he can stick it to your lass.
RE: Why not? It matters not who the manager is and wether he can attract players or not. The bottom line is, are the wages attractive?, 'cos thats what matters to them, you know it.
Simple reason: When the new bloke turns up & realises he needs to bring in an entire team of people - he'll probably **** himself. Then when Gord finds out that it's not a direct replacement for Andy & Rick - he'll probably sack him before he's hired. Gord will pick the team. McIndoe will be playing in 9 different positions, with Togwell in goal & Wroe up front. Yes. The same players played better at Wednesday. It's not like 6 of their better players came back from injury just as they sacked the Manager. Oh no. You can make that piano play any tune you want ... but mainly Gord's tune.
