you keep saying we're apologists but i hav'nt read anyone apologising or excusing the rioters.but commenting on the privelleged two faced money orientated politicians that swindled thousands from our coffers.he difference is only media perception.

 

I think its my first post on the subject, so don't know where I "keep" saying it, but the 2 examples are totally seperate subjects. I've a feeling I agree on your attitude towards the "privelleged two faced money orientated politicians that swindled thousands from our coffers", though we may differ on my attitude towards the mindless hooligan thugs (rioters kind of makes it sound like they have a cause).

 

not trying to excuse em what they did was immoral but to say the present policies are not part of the cause is burying our heads in the sand.the fact they are standing on strreet corners and not working is one. to make it out as all the criminal element have just emerged like dawn of the dead like camerons implementing just doesn't wash.a lot of them aren't career criminals one size don't fit all as cameron said when he employed andy coulson everyone deserves a second chance. oh ye unless their not privelled.

 

As far as I can see one group is clever enough to... a) not use force (and hence the courts won't be so tough on them( b) have been undetected for years ...and the other group isn't that clever..... or is that too simplistic?

But you are making excuses for them, just because you are not working and standing on a street corner (why would you be doing that) isn't a reason to riot. They riot because they can, end of.
I'm not privileged, I'll assume you're not........did you go out rioting?.......I'll assume you didn't.
Its a choice and some made that choice to behave as louts and take the livelihoods of those that can be arsed to do something about their own circumstances.
Have you seen some of those that have been convicted today.........social worker, teaching assistant, 2nd year law student..........so I agree one size doesn't fit all, it was a bunch of selfish opportunists who just didn't give a ****.
I don't buy the argument that they haven't had a good start in life so thats why they had no choice but to loot, there are enough examples of people pulling themselves up from the gutter and achieving far more than those.

Anyway, they sure don't deserve anymore of my time, we'll have to agree to disagree on the technicalities and just hope they feel some comparative level of pain in the future that they have caused others.

 

I think you have totally missed the whole point of the article that was linked to! It has nowhere made any attempts to say that the rioters were blameless or in the right. It is showing how "Dave "and his cronies were as bad, smashing property etc, theft, arson etc.
Yet he has the gall to stand up and call these rioters without any recall of his own action .

When I say his cronies I include 90% of the MP`s in Westminster, of ALL parties, not just Tories.

I think your thinking is ******. I just wondered if you would argue/debate face to face in the same aggressive and insulting way as you have done on this forum. Many of your posts have an aggression /insult within them.

 

@ Marlon - If you really believe that the vermin who've been rioting/looting on our streets this week are doing so because of anything this current Government has done, you're even more stupid than your posts suggest. Oh and for the record, the worst offenders in terms of amounts claimed 'fraudulently' during the parliamentary expenses scandal were almost exclusively Labour MPs. That said, when that particular scandal broke I'd have gladly locked every single MP in the House, and burned it to the ground.
