We were fantastic today. Apart from the first 15 minutes of the second half we battered them - I just don't get how we lost the game. I can't be doing with sacking another manager - it gains nothing. We won't go down - no way. Let's just right off this season as a step back to go forward. You reds.
I wouldn't sack him (although I'd struggle to put forward a cohesive argument as to why we should keep him). But I'm far from confident that we won't go down. I just don't think changing the manager will make much difference.
Fantastic? No. Better than normal, yes. We looked better because of players like Hammill and Toney who looked like they can attack.... Where do you see evidence of going backwards to go forwards? Plenty of going backwards! I'd say that saying we won't go down "no way" is wishful thinking; it's a distinct possibility
We were better today, but we still lost. To a very poor Port Vale side. We were not fantastic. A fantastic performance would produce a win in a third tier game. I don't understand how you can say no way will we go down and be so confident of it. We are losing every game, we find it virtually impossible to score (our goal today was given to us on a plate), we concede 2 every game. It is a recipe for relegation. Some people are not understanding that we need mid table form now to avoid relegation. We might do it, but there should be no confidence about it when we are still in the worst run of results in the lifetime of most people on here.
How many seasons are we going to right off. Sick of watching a side that seems to concede like a sieve....
If we were grinding out uninspiring draws in between defeats, but just couldn't buy a win, then I'd be with you on not sacking Johnson. Or if we were in a tough division and every game we were up against quality, fair enough. But we're not, we're literally losing every week to some of the worst sides I've seen at this level. Let's be honest, Port Vale were atrocious, as were Fleetwood, as were Crewe. Scunny were bang average, there for the taking. We've lost to them all. Back in 2003 you had big spending Wigan and Cardiff, Bristol City and QPR. In the years after we had the likes of Forest, Wednesday, Swanea, even Plymouth. There was always a few quality sides in this division, big clubs. This year, Wigan and possibly Sheff Utd aside, it's a very poor league. Very poor. And we're second bottom and that's only due to Crewe being seemingly nailed on for last place. Crisis club Blackpool are above us and they could barely put a team out a few months back. I hate sacking managers and understand the need to stick with somebody for a good time period, but eight defeats on the bounce against woeful sides is indefensible. That'd without going into the team selection, formations, lack of direction etc.
Yes we need to stick with a manager but you can't just stick with a bad one because we've sacked managers previously. We're second from bottom of a very poor third division so we write this season off, just like last season? I'm confident enough to predict right now that if we do stick with Johnson and we manage to stay up then next season will be another write off.
I don't think lee Johnson will.turn things around. The run had gone on too long and the side had lost confidence in itself and it's manager. Plus thevtrainer has to take some responsibility too. Perhaps he should be the first to go and be replaced by someone who can get the team to do just that. To work togethern as a team.
If I look at your overall post content, I'd suggest you'd prefer a different manager. There. I've said it for you.
My opinion too. This run isn't an anomaly. This run speaks volumes. But hey ho. Mr Cryne and co picked their path. Now they're walking it. #DannyWilsonsRedAndWhiteArmy
Totally agree with this comment we keep blaming young players ... But confidence needs building not destroyed how opinions have changed just last week the majority couldn't wait to get rid of Johnson now some want to keep him????????? Working together as a team is paramount Johnson isn't building a team he is destroying potential he is a headless chicken with no communication / organisation skills .
I'd prefer Danny Wilson. Without question. That's not to say I think we should sack Lee Johnson and reinstate our last manager, for a start he wouldn't come, we just shouldn't have got rid in the first place. Preferring a different manager is not the same as sacking the one we've got.
I'm with you on that, many people seem to think that just because we sacked a mediocre manager last year, that we can't sack singularly the worst manager that the club has ever had this year, it's barmy.
Altrincham did it for me. I have dead fish eyes. We were marginally better yesterday but I am past caring too much. It's time for a change Johnson is poor from team selection to tactics through to substitutions. I want us to stick with a manager just not one this bad.
There might be a few reasons why he is still here. The owner has said that he wouldn't hire/fire another manager and he wants to save face. The owner would need to throw away yet more money paying Johnson off. There is a general sense within the club of a shared culpability in terms of players hired which can't be attributed entirely to the coach. Lee Johnson is personable and cute and it would be like firing Elmo.
We always seem to manage to conspire to concede. Too easy to beat, whether we play well or we play bad. I didn't think going back in history was right to appoint Danny. But under LJ we have seen us move in only one direction, incrementally we are getting worse. To play well and lose, be easy to score against at home, still at this stage have no preferred starting line up or formation baffles me. The players we have are capable of much better. To cap it all I'm losing interest and desire to watch.
