inside the staium was excellent but out back was a bit pants. narrow stairwells, tight coridors, and bogs packed to insanity. i can see why it was put up comparitively cheaply.
i didnt like it either. couldnt mingle with opposition fans (like you could on wembley way), barely hear noise at the other side of the ground, sat on bottom tier struggle to see even people in the middle tier etc.
Until the end When it did not matter. I did not think the atmosphere was a good as at Wembley, but wonder if that was due to the rain. But all that metters was what happened - so it was the best stadium in the world. And someone needs to tell them what park and ride means!
I'm sure it isn't but since you have a captive audience willing to pay £2.50 for utter crap, there's no incentive to try.
Couldnt understand pricing We were right at the back behind the goal (UN3) and had a superb view but paid less than those below us near the front of the tier.
RE: Couldnt understand pricing i paid more to be nearer the front of the tier i wouldnt want to be that high up, its all a matter of prefernce really
100% disagree thought it was excellent. thought that the whole day was supremely organised by the stewards and police. also, to those who posted afterwards, sometimes segregation is necessary. imagine if it was a cardiff/swansea final or if Wellard had done his performance there
RE: Did you fellas have to queue to use the loo or was that a privilege for women only? I was in M6 and when I went to the toilet at end of normal time I noticed the Ladies queue was about 20 to the door. Us gents, a bit of pushing but we're used to that.</p>
I know, allus seems to be the same. You would think that the folk behind the design of these stadiums would be a little more with the times and realise that the number of women attending games is on the increase. Ne'er mind, more time in the queue for the bog is less time for me to go and spend more than a penny else where!! ff
not down to the designers of the stadium cazi in block u34 there were equal amounts of women's and blokes bogs. they turned 1 set of women's bogs into mens
Got to diasagree about the stadium itself - thought it was very well organised. Entry and exiting from the ground was very smooth. Two sets of stairs side by side ment there was no crushing on the way out. Great view with loads of leg room. Got to agree the catering was diabolical! In terms of segregating the fans I don't think this was too bad - remember it's different to Wembley in the fact that alcohol was more very readily available outside the ground. The all Barnsley / Swansea pubs were a good idea and generated a good atmosphere.
RE: Exactamundo The charges aren't what I'm concerned about, it's whats on offer.....pies, pies and errrr pies! Go to a game in the States and the food served there would put us to shame, pizza that you'd be pleased to get from your local pizzeria, nachos, decent burgers and hot dogs etc, at least 8 different types of beer. Now whilst I don't expect Barnsley to be able to match that scale I would have thought the Millennium could.
RE: Did you fellas have to queue to use the loo or was that a privilege for women only? I went at half-time and was shocked to actually walk straight in without having to queue at all!!
Had to go from back row to ground floor for a loo stop!! Went out cos was sure my bladder wasn't going to make it thru first half. Was 6 rows from back in UN 1.... had to go down 2 floors (about 6 flights of stairs!)for a loo - just pegged it back upstairs in time for Hayes goal.
