I am no way gonna slag them too much as I feel they all worked so dammed hard for us.....I can sorta take defeat when we at least give 100 percent, and today I thought they all were doing so...but unfortunately despite this great effort today I am afraid some of our boys are just not good enough for this level...Heckingbottom for sure aint good enough.Devaney today sweated blood and ran thru walls for us,and I so commend and respect him for this, but alas he just is not up the mark.Colgan is just *****, and a frightener of a keeper.... his total inability to command his area is costing us our place in this league.Ok He made THAT save at Cardiff, but now he is costing us way too many points.
ThE effort today was very pleasing....................and bodes well for the remaining games. Let's not forget we are now in Prem 2 in every respect albeit the name. Sunderland played at times like a prem, Team and despite are best efforts they were simply a better team. However, there are also team slike us down there with little money and little quality eg Luton QPR - Leeds? - Southend................our team spirity and effort may just pull us clear (50/50 odds a this stage IMHO)
you know what.... I was thinking along those lines too...if we give that level of commitment/effort/work.... in the remaing games then I too think we will come through, BUT I still think our left back position needs examining , and maybe its time we put Mr Calamity Colgan on the bench for a while....and Kyle Reid should start next time insteade of Devaney.
RE: you know what.... I agree it's time Lucas had his chance. Colgan has donE well for BFC in the past but at the minute he is being sELected on past glories rather than current form. Not sure about Reid. He has impressed me every time he has come as sub - particularly today and QPR at home. On the other hand when he has started a game he seems to fade too easiLY...................and more often than not his crossing is little better than Sunday League standard. Today was not our day at Oakwell - and not our day elsewhere................other weeks I'm sure will prove different but I still think this is going right down to the wire at WBA. One good thing about Disco is that even when he is not playing well he never fades and always tries to make something happen. That attitude is needed now throughout the team.
