as I was fully anticipating a mins silence. This was to have been a great gesture by the club, now it makes us look stupid for considering it and not carrying it out. Should have nowt to do with either the police or the ref, if the club want to honour someone, that's all the consideration that should be required.
If we were to have had a minutes silence for that I take it they would have also made it for the Barnsley fan they announced at half time had died in her sleep during the week....didn't fully catch the details.
I don't see why the police would have an objection to a minutes silence! I'm not saying that they didn't, just why would they?
I don't think there was even a minute's silence at the Sheff U-Hull game. They weren't expecting one on the Hull messageboard anyway, as the family didn't want any fuss.
