Not 25, and marooned at the bottom. Some of you really need to get a grip. Young team, young manager. They will make mistakes, there will be ups and downs. I don't even think we should be looking at promotion. It would be nice, course it would, but we simply can't compete financially in that league. Look at Rotherham and Huddersfield. Still we could always sack yet another manager a few months into the season.
I think people are saying how badly we performed yesterday and it has been taken out of proportion. I think we could compete in the championship but only if we get the foundations right which hopefully we are going to do
Most definitely not!!! He deserves the whole season and part of next season. If its still pub team material after then with NO major signs of improvement the we move on to the next guy brave enough for a challenge. We may not like it but apart from a select handful of clubs its how things are
Why shouldn't we be looking at promotion? We've one of the biggest budgets in the league. Johnson keeps signing players who he says championship clubs were in for so why shouldn't we be battling at the top? All the big earners have gone.
Our defence needs work on it with conceeding over a dozen goals already. Our manager thinks Wilkinson on loan was a better option than two free transfers that offer something different in Ibhere and Cole and we will have to support him on that and hope eventually he ends up being right. We are already heavy on loans which we hear apart from Crowley could all turn permanent but lets wait and see if that line turns out to be true. We've got no experience to show the younger lads the right way. We've just been thrashed by a team with a tiny budget compared to us. Although on the plus side we are mid table which is where I thought we'd end this season (around 13th or so)
Agree. I think we'll end up mid-table. But in my opinion there's no doubt we should be challenging for promotion with our budget. Couple of experienced heads, a target man, a couple less central midfielders with a full back & winger instead combined with the talents of Scowen, Hourihane, Winnall, Mawson, Roberts, Williams & Davies & I think we'd be up there
More experience would be good. As would not saving that kind of intensity of upping their game for when we play a big side on TV and instead playing that way in the league where it matters most.
Of course promotion should be our target, if its not then LJ is definitely in the wrong business. We've got one of the biggest budgets in the league and some quality players at this level so if that doesn't mean that our target is promotion then what hope have we got.
Our league position after 5 games is no concern at all to me and I'm not expecting promotion either. I'm just frustrated that in the final days of the window we already have 6 loans,a shortage of strikers, no cover at left back, hardly any pace in the side and enough central midfielder to fill a bus. Whichever way you look at it our recruitment this summer has been a tad poor.
