I watched the match today..

I wasn't there, but I watched it. Modern technology eh?

Unfortunate though that I did watch it. Because that was as bad as Rochdale away, only we weren't playing a side as decent as Keith's were that day. No offence to Southend, they're typically Phil Brown, and deserved their win, but they were bang average.

Yet again we had plenty of the ball, but did **** all with it. Mostly, side to side stuff. No penetration, no through balls, no triangles, nothing. Just shifted between players til it got out wide, and the delivery from wide areas was as bad as ever. Nothing much stuck up top, the loanee Smith put in another display that I can only compare with another former loanee striker we had, the worst I've ever seen actually, Richard ******* Naylor. He showed about as much talent and application as Naylor, again. On these brief glimpses, I wouldn't pay a penny for him. I don't know if he's any worse or better than Conor Wilkinson, which says a lot. I saw a great 30 minutes in Harry White the other night though, so don't expect him anywhere near the side.

Losing Watkins was a blow. I thought Scowen was 'okay'. Centre halves didn't do much wrong, but again we've conceded two goals. The first one as a result of Crowley (IMO) a yard away from Wordsworth, not closing him down, but that's possibly harsh as it was a decent enough goal, I wish we'd score from open play in that manner. Can't remember the last time we did. Must be at least 4 games ago if not 5.

Second goal was poor as ****. The cross was deflected, which definitely threw Davies, but still, nobody even close to stopping their lad from putting it in. And it had been coming. Once we'd gone ahead through the penalty, we offered nowt. Before that, we'd had a couple of good chances. But aye, keeper should have walked for the foul IMO, which changes the game completely. But once we scored, I expected us to grow in stature, push on and that. I should have known better. Weak as piss, bullied all over midfield and up top, gave silly free kicks away, it was **** I'm afraid.

Second half may as well have not happened. Southend weren't as threatening, and we just contrived to fudge any opening we might have forged. Be it through shocking passing, and I mean a few yards some of these passes, or Pearson and his ability to ping diags from't diag zone straight into touch. Others will disagree, but his display on Tuesday was a poor one, today it was just as bad. When you're behind like that and it's him and Scowen in centre mid, it dunt work offensively. Throw in Crowley, who certainly has talent but definitely doesn't have a clue about football right now, and your midfield is pathetic. He takes players on, Crowley, but then refuses to release the pass, or shoot. He's as one footed as you'll ever see too. His highlight? My highlight of watching it? Late on, probably a couple of minutes left, he's got the ball by the byline, just inside their box, can square it, or lay it off. But decides to try and do some kind of keepie uppies instead, fudges it, goes out for a goal kick.

None of the subs had an impact.

I'm supportive of LJ but finding it hard tonight. And his excuse about a young group is ********. They've chosen this route. And his excuse about fixture congestion, blaming the football league etc? Give over. Last time we had 6/7 days between games, we lost to Donny and Crewe. And, wasn't it just a week or so ago that the entire division barring us and Coventry had a game midweek?

Under pressure obviously, hence the piss poor excuses.

I'm struggling tonight. I can't make Tuesday night. I couldn't make the Birmingham or Fleetwood games at Oakwell that saw recent managers sacked. I hope that's not an omen, I don't want LJ sacked. But tonight, I'm starting to wonder why I give a ****.

AND I HAVE ONLY WATCHED IT ONLINE. IMAGINE THE DAFT/POOR SODS WHO WENT DOWN AND PAID.

Dint tha say they were all good tother neet before thi Pearson dig and dint tha say Hourihane put more tackles in at Bradford than Pearson has all season. I know its thy opinion YT but despite thi sayin tha likes Pearson it dunt come across like that. Shame cos it teks away from so much tha writes that I can go along with.

I understand he aint our player and takin place of one of our own but cut him a bit of slack cos its looking similar to the Hourihane vultures jumping onto every misplaced pass.

I don't post stuff for you to go along with pal. I post what I think, thoughts based on what I've seen with my eyes. Pearson was poor for his standards on Tuesday, today I thought he was just as poor. Not awful, not ****, just poor. If you rewind to the Everton game, I praised him. I couldn't praise him against Gillingham as I wasn't there, but by all accounts he played well.

You're looking for summat that int there. And, I purposely chose not to refer to Hourihane in my report today, so as not to antagonise folk, goad folk. Seems I've managed that twice in a week now with you, over Pearson, for having the audacity to call it as I saw it. If you can find others praising his displays this past two matches, lots of em, all disagreeing with me, then maybe you'd have a point.

Honest reports of both games. We were garbage on Tuesday in the first half, that's what I said. Second half was my type of Barnsley. We didn't see that today, despite the formation being the one I wanted, so maybe the players aren't as good as we think.

I can't stand Pearson. I don't think he's very good as a player but more than that he's an aggressive little sh*t (irony overload I know). How he's not been suspended yet for picking fights every game I haven't a clue.

We were average today , it's a poor league and we still can't create much in open play

Andy, thanks for that. I've always thought Crowley never gives us anything and he is too young to play with grown ups at the moment. Beating 15 players and yourself every game without an end product is just no good. We need someone more experienced than him right now.
