England are ranked 13 th in the world. That is generous. ranked behind Switzerland and Belgium. That is not "very good" That is the price we are paying for our clubs dictating what happens nationally.
I've said it many times but i'll say it again, the ranking aren't to do with how good your players are it's how consistent you are.
Well we aren't, we aren't as consistent as the team talent should but England were in the top three in goals scored and goals conceded in the last qualifiers.

Very good Rugby team - sometimes, but we prove time and again that we can't compete over any prolonged period against the Southern Hemisphere sides in either code. Flatter to deceive 90% of the time. We're okay at 7s and the variations that don't matter. very good cricket team. - Looking great in Australia against the weakest side I can recall. The only good side we've played recently was South Africa, and we got mullered.
You're in safe territory mate. The only way we'll the World Cup in our lifetime is if everyone else gets banned for match fixing.
This Aussie team is far from weak, they have a lot of very good players. In Rugby union England have done well. Beat the Australians and come close against NZ a team thats been beat once since winning the world cup at home. You guessed it England were that team that beat them. The Football teams a very good one. Got some very good players. Both young and older and we have the likes of Rooney and sturridge up front too.
I give up. You're right. I'm sick of winning against all these really great sides and bringing all those trophies home all the time thanks to the unending list of world class talent like Sturridge that we produce that makes us the envy of the world.
But when it suits you you bring up these rankings. The rankings state we aren't as good as Belgium. Football is a team game, doesn't matter how good your individual players are if they aren't gelling as a team and being consistent!
