Bruce's soccer camp is in Grimethorpe this week and they've had Devaney and Steele there so far (who signed two pairs of gloves and gave them away to two kids). Why did they never do things like that in Grimey when I lived there? :( Enjoyed this post of his:

I think someone has lost there pet LOL

I don't think it matters if you're injured to make an appearance and give out signed gloves.

Doing a Q&A and signing/giving out gloves. I don't think the kids were shooting Championship style goals at him for 90 minutes.

I went to a football academy holiday with Ponty72 back in the early 80's and we got to meet Mark Lawrenson, Chris Hughton, Gary Stevens (Brighton and Spurs), Alvin Martin and Alan Mullery. They were like football royalty at the time with all of them being either current or former internationals. Great days.

Wasn't Bryan Robson there? Still got the photo with Lawro, what a knob. Him that is, not me.

I could be wrong but I'm sure he was supposed to be there but he got injured and couldn't come so I think Alvin Martin was his replacement. I think Lawro is ok but I know a lot of people don't.

I do remember going somewhere with my primary school on a Bobby Charlton football day thing. It was fantastic! I can still remember all the activities and things we did like it was yesterday, I got a little trophy for best goal of the day and we all got a goodie bag that had a CD in it with all different football songs on it. I've still got it at home somewhere. The reason for this post is because we had to travel for it and only 8 of us (the teacher's pets) got to go, and there were no Barnsley players there :(

Sadly there were no Barnsley players turned up to our academy either. I remember quizzing one of the players about BFC and how they thought we'd do in the upcoming season. They looked at me like I was on day release.
