I wish to nominate 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' by the Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band. I will watch for its inclusion in the poll. Thank-you in anticipation.
On a similar theme I'd suggest Grimethorpe band's version of Concierto de Aranjuez from the Brassed Off soundtrack. Get it started early and it builds up superbly.
RE: On a similar theme and then the Ponty End can join in and sing 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' to get the atmosphere up. As far as I know, no other fans sing this song.
I was roundly ridiculed. Ridiculed roundly, I was..... ...last time around, for suggesting the Grimthorpe Colliery Brass Band. What could be more Barnsley than them, eh? Queen, Thin Lizzy, Bon Jovi, ar alreight, them ant Baltimore Orioles and Witwatersrand Wanderers. And a Brass Band can belt it art and it doesn't have ter be t'floral dance.
RE: I was roundly ridiculed. Ridiculed roundly, I was..... You weren't ridiculed by me - providing they get the right tune I think the brass band is a cracking idea and I did suggest last time when the club wanted people to email them with suggestions.
i reckon.... someone, sanctioned by the club (you, that is) should approach the band director-bloke and tell him straight that the Club would like the to feature the band as the Official Belters Arters of the BFC theme... 'cos we love all Barnsley-types and we gotta all love each other.... dickie and parkie and goughie too.. and ask the director-bloke for his input into the theme.. them blokes knows their stuf.....

RE: i reckon.... It'd be a cracking idea if the band actually got involved and came up with something that suited the occasion exactly
RE: i reckon.... Remember seeing them at my school when I was about 11, they did the 1812 overture - the finale of that was amazing - lets have that.
RE: i reckon.... I've seen 'em twice at the Sydney Opera House.... ten years between 'em.... bit highbrow, the first one... not much of it is my cuppa tea.... but when you get the right piece, well, marvellous....
