I wonder how many part time fans are going to be back if we go to Cardiff?

As many as possible.. then they can be converted to full time ones

Most clubs need part-time fans to realise their potential

    Everyone is welcome of course.

Our ground holds 20k plus. We should be looking at least 18 -20k at home for the semis. Work and personal probs aside, people should give their support when they can. But lets not get into that and all get down to the last games to lift us up.

    I hope a lot do

Define a part time fan anyway - I would rather be there with 20000 others supporting us than just the usual 8000

But then again I am a part time fan too - today was only my 8th of the season ( sodding Bournemouth Gillingham bristol etc all midweek so I couldnt go)

My definition of a part timer.

In my eyes, your not a part timer if you still go to the game when you can. I dont mean you have to go to every game. Its not realistic. Thing is if you look at the attendances since we have dropped down the leagues they have got lower and lower. If you supported the reds when they were in the Premier then abit or never in the Championship. Then when they got relegated again and you thought 'Im not going anymore coz the quality of football is poor' then can you call yourself a true Barnsley fan. Its about the club not the football. Its nice to have the football though.

We'll take their money won't we?

Can't really see a problem with that as such.

    RE: This "part timer" thing

In the 80s I used to travel all over to watch the reds. I really was one of the so called "die-hards", even travelling to pre season friendlies and zenith, full members or whatever cup matches.

We though that part of our job as "proper fans" was to sneer at part timers.

What we didnt realise was that we were the mugs. We got no medals or prizes and watching football mainly made us skint and a good number of our fellow "proper fans" were getting complimentary tickets off players that they sucked up to.

Dont get me wrong, Im still a season ticket holder but only go to half the away games now but when I go I like to be sat Id rather be sat in a full away end like yesterday with a good mixture of "die hards" and "part timers".

Do part timers get as upset when we lose?

Remember at Wembley how jolly some were when leaving; I was distraught but some were packing up their picnics merrily, must be nice to go to a Reds match and not be on tenterhooks throughout!

RE: Do part timers get as upset when we lose?

There were people there who had possibly never been to Barnsley match before. Theyre not going to feel it are they?

Im with you on the distraught thing. I actually cried that day but then again I almost cried yesterday when the final whistle went.

me too..... i'm just getting my head around it..

it is a negative motivation.... I think I would regret it, later, if I didn't get there..

(bit like the Bradford match, which I wasn't at)

Some of us work! I have'nt missed at home, and been to only one away game this season, also, people with kids such as I, find it difficult financially to go to every game, I don't care how many "part timers" go, lets just get as many Barnsley bodies as possible to all the remaining games.
You sound like you're workshy, with a low sperm count.:pff

If your talkin aout me I work twelve hours shifts and as I stated things like kids jobs, and money are a acceptable reason why you cannot attend. And Ive got massive balls.
