    1) Had a go at Newcastle United for sacking Chris Houghton, but Pardew got them European football.

    2) Had a go at Sheffield Wednesday for sacking Gary Megson, but Dave Jones got them automatically promoted first time of asking.

    3) Had a go at Huddersfield Town for sacking Lee Clark, but Simon Grayson got them promoted first time of asking.

I wonder if the media 'experts' will react differently next season if a club sacks a manager who's doing alright.

Euro 96 ........ I strongly slagged off Alan Shearers selection; said he was fceking useless. I have this year called Andy Carroll similar.

I think some sections of the media said Keith Hill was a good appointment.

I'm not disputing your point Dreamy, but let's be fair, the Wendies and Hudders would have probably gone up either way once Ched got his ticket to the big house. And it was Clark and Megson who built those respective squads.
    Good point though, nonetheless.
I am predicting the tarn finish bottom with zero points.....

The very same media that said Simon Davey was a bright young manager and destined for the top!

The media was right in all three cases, none of the managers should have been sacked. Well 1 and 3 anyway.

If England get to the final of euro 2012 and the FA sack hodgson, appoint me and we beat france in the final it won't mean that they made the right decision to do what they did. It will still have been an absolutely crazy, terrible decision. Huddersfield have done no better after sacking clark than they did while he was manager, in fact they've done worse havent they?

Well not really. People have been absolutely cained others for slating Hill because he has "kept us in the division". Davey never got us relegated and also gave us 2 of the best days since I started supporting Barnsley. We've not improved since Davey.

No he did not! He was very lucky to get 2 good wins during 3 years at Oakwell.
He got more backing in the transfer market than the other 2 as well.
He was an obnoxious **** that bullied people whenever he could get away with it.
He had the tactical awareness of Hill on a bad day.
Plus anyone that plays Robbie Williams in the centre of midfield deserves anything he gets!!

Just my opinion and one that you are welcome to disagree with.

what did robins achieve? he kept barnsley in the championship, thats exactly what Davey did, Davey pinches it with the cup run. Unless i missed something that Robins did?
