I hadn't realised the programme was called Exposed.

 

According to the beeb, some kind of name plate in his honour in Scarborough has already been daubed with paedo and rapist

 

Probably by the same people that would have cried when he passed away and went and sobbed at his coffin when it was on display.

This should have been done when he was alive, now he is dead it should be left in the past.. why did it take 30 years to speak up? Leave the man at peace.

Completely agree Greekman. I'm very uncomfortable with these allegations coming out thirty years after the alleged incidents and after he has passed away. If it was my family I would be absolutely mortified and very angry.

You're well out of order with those comments. Why didn't they try for justice while he was alive so we could have had a trial and so he could at least defend himself. Of course he must be guilty because there are allegations being made.

 

Agree with you there. If it was my daughter who had been snogged and groped repeatedly by him (allegedly) I wouldn' t want it to be swept under the carpet just because he is dead.

From what I have read (BBC, Sky and Torygraph websites) there are potentially hundreds of (then) young girls who were so intimidated / in awe of him that they just kept quiet. Paedophilia (sp?) wasn't talked about back then - they were just "dirty old men". It's only because a couple of people have spoken out about that others are now having the courage to do so. Some of the evidence is pretty damning.

Why does it take his death till folk start coming out with accusations? If they wanted closure they could have had it when he was alive IF there was any truth in the allegations. Few of these are doing it for the press coverage and to sell the story for money, can hardly defend himself and disprove himself now can he.

Another example of the fame orrientated country that we now have to put up with.

 

The same reason many rape victims don't come forward. Fear of the perpetrator and fear of not being believed. For whatever reasons the victim may now feel he/she can come forward. I think what's out of order is for people to suggest that these claims shouldn't even be investigated.

Lets not forget a claim was made in 2008.

So every single alleged victim except one decided not to come forwards until the last week or so. I know how harrowing rape can be, a very close family member experienced the difficulty of making a rape allegation recently so I have some experience. Do I think some of these allegations may be true? I really dont know and unfortunately JS is dead and can't defend himself. Do I think some of the allegations are made up and being made by attention seeking fantasists? Yes sadly I think some are and these will distort and interfere with the process for any alleged victims who are making genuine allegations.

 

Think about it. How much easier would it be to come forward once somebody else has. Whether or not the allegations are true is irrelevant for the point you and greekman made. You're suggesting they shouldn't even be investigated! And that sort of ***** leads to even more victims not coming forward.

 

And like Calgary said. The evidence does look pretty damning. Hopefully the truth will come out.
