Any new players coming in this week? After what was an apparently shambolic performance yesterday (great kudos to the fans who went), there can be no complaints from anyone who is dropped. The players can do a damn sight better, as we saw last week, but there are no excuses for failing to put in a committed performance. Most fans (but not all) can accept defeat, provided everyone in the team has given everything they've got for the cause. There are days when you're simply not as good as the opposition. On another day, you may simply be unlucky. However, I'm not giving up on the club, players, or the manager and his staff. I believe in Keith Hill and what he's trying to achieve. Others see things differently, which is fair enough. That's their choice & opinion, which they're entitled to express. Just because it differs to mine doesn't mean I'm allowed to be abusive towards them with regards to their footballing knowledge, nor their vision on how the club should & is being run. I'm still sticking to my pre season prediction of finishing 16th.
Cheeky sod! She's still in the Land Of Nod. I'm surprised you can't hear the ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's! I don't see that many players available within budget who would be able to make an immediate impact. That, however, doesn't mean they're not out there. I don't have all the answers, if any at all, but I'm comforted to know there appears to be so many who do.
Re: Cheeky sod! We need a defender that will literally kick lumps of ***** out of opposition forwards. We had that with Sonko on trial but didnt act fast enough
Cheeky sod? - I'm not the one talking about pants. Hopefully we may have some loans in the offing. I don't like the idea of loans, but it may be the only answer.
I'd have liked to see Sonko & Cranie at the heart of our defence, but it wasn't to be. Personally, I'd love us to sign a commanding centre half and a Ray McHale/Gwyn Thomas/Alan Little type of midfielder, provided such players are both available and within budget.
Showing my age, mate Basically, a 'hard as nails' midfielder operating in front of the back four, offering protection to the defence, who could win the ball and then play it simply and effectively to more creative colleagues.
