if we'd kept Stan and got shut of donkey feet, i know he had a bad year last year BUT he did at least show us that on form he was championship quality, i mean we have got shut of this when what we are now missing is a target man:</p>

No point in dwelling on it.

Might as well get behind Odejayi and the team now.

If you were a defender, even of the like of John Terry, you would be far more worried by facing Odejayi than Ferenczi on last season's overall performances. I would always rather have a player who gets into, or makes scoring positions and misses than one who doesn't get enough into those positions in the first place. Odejayi will never have particularly good feet, but he has pace and power and don't forget the goals he did score - they were impressive and, as the Championship commentary said after his blast against Scnuthorpe, 'On that showing, there are a lot more goals to come.' I still think that is true. Don't write him off and just look at the records of similar players

And yet Ferenczi scored more goals than Kayode last season

I for one believe OJ will surprise us all this season with quiet a good goal ratio. Defenders dont like playing against him.

No offense but he is never going to score more than 5 goals a season in this league and its not just that, he actually has no brain, he doesn't pass the ball when we are breaking forward and if its not within a legs reaching distance he isn't bothered. Im sure hes a nice fella and its not his fault that he isn't good enough and i don't boo him like some morons but his style of football is suitable for league 2/conference and not this level.

    No you wouldnt

    Or at least I wouldnt.

I would know that odejayi only managed to score 4 goals in 45 appearences, I would know that odejayi routinely misses easy chances and I would know that if he somehow got passed me it would more than likely not result in a goal.
I would know that if Ferenczi was running at me then i'd better stop him as he is much more clinical when he gets a chance to have a shot.

Where has this 'defenders don't like playing against KO' thing come from?

Is it something that people on here have made up? Or has a defender from one of the THREE teams that Odejayi managed to score against last season said it? Because I can't for the life of me see why any of the other FORTY-TWO teams would say they don't like playing against a striker that fails to score or set up a goal against them.

Id have thought they would love playing against him as he would hardly ever punish any mistakes you made.

Not if you were wearing the special rose coloured spectacles ...

...... that some of our fans wear that make you see Odejayi as a striker who 'will come good' and 'can only get better' etc. etc.

I prefer to see him without spectacles - and see that he's ***** and couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo, whether there is any defenders near him or not.

Like you, I do not boo him, or any of them for that matter, but anybody who thinks he's good enough for the Championship is simply deranged - including stubborn old Mr. Davey

If want to change a game your losing Odejayi is a lot better than Stan.

    Ferencvaros last week ......

Barnsley striker Istvan Ferenczi will return to his homeland after agreeing to join Sheffield United's Hungarian feeder club Ferencvaros.

The 30-year-old, who has spent the last 18 months at Oakwell, scored 12 times in 58 appearances for the Reds.

Ferenczi found himself on the transfer list after being forced out of the first team at the end of last season.

Barnsley have said that at this stage of his career they would not stand in Ferenczi's way if he wanted to leave.

The problem was that Davey put him on and took the wingers off and played through the middle.

So he didn't actually come on and change a game then!

Lets agree to differ mate, you have faith in him, I just can't see it to be honest, but I do hope he proves me wrong!
