You know summats amiss when IDS as obnoxious as character as you could ever meet is taking the moral high ground. Still making disabled people pay to give the rich tax cuts was a step too far even for him.
maybe. maybe it's an orchestrated means of making him leave the cabinet before he campaigns to leave the EU which suggest he has a heart at the same time. seems bizarre that he is only now criticising policies of which he has largely been the architect for 6+ years.
Morals..Aye..there goes the flying pig. Smokescreen from a devious lowdown lovely person. Manoeuvring for personal benefit. Lower than vermin, the lot of em.
Re: Morals..Aye..there goes the flying pig. Ids was the driving force behind many of the cuts this is totally out of character for him. He resides at the far fast right of the Tory party. This is a cynical move to get his out campaign more popularity
Re: Morals..Aye..there goes the flying pig. Not exactly a Geoffrey Howe/Margaret Thatcher moment, but it's just at the top of that lane.
Re: Morals..Aye..there goes the flying pig. In his own twisted way IDS believed the benefit cuts were a moral issue to a point when it got beyond that point he fought his corner when it became obvious that cuts were cuts for political reasons he resigned. Not sure it's fair to switch the focus to Europe. I've met him on Sverdlovsk occasions and didn't like him but if it was about Europe he would say so.
Re: Morals..Aye..there goes the flying pig. Just like all extreme right wing conservatives the man's a snake
Don't believe everything you read mate. Its stinks of something underhanded rather than anything. He's either trying to hang Osborne out to dry or he's doing it for his own gain, Brexit perhaps. How do they letters get out to the public domain so quickly, without there being a reason for it. Generally these kind of things are kept under lock and key. I don't trust any of them.
He's doing it for his own benefit. Je wants out of Europe and thinks this is a good way for to gain popularity Exiting the European union would be a disaster for the North but je doesn't care about the north
If we were to leave the EU following the forthcoming referendum? Cameron and Osborne would surely lose party credibility paving the way for a new PM. Guess who?
Has any Govt. Minister ever enjoyed so much protection as IDS? I'll just use the Universal Credit (UC) as an example. In principle it is a good idea and has been banded about for many years and is not exclusive to The Tories and IDS. With cost being the main issue of course. Then the complexity of IT and timescale. IDS has largely failed on most accounts of UC in that: It is at least 2 years behind schedule (it's only partly up and running and nowhere near where it should be) Massively over budget, hundreds of millions. There are other issues as well, but yet there is no outcry from MPs, The Public, and the press (no surprise there) As an afterthought, I still have the TVs images in my head when he walked out of Parliament laughing during a debate about the food banks. Horrible cnt in a horrible party.
Re: Has any Govt. Minister ever enjoyed so much protection as IDS? The DWP lost a court case this week and have been ordered to open up about the issues surrounding the implementation of Universal Credit. The cost to the taxpayer and the fact that IDS has missed so many targets should have seen him sacked a long time ago. http://dwpexamination.org/forum/newsreel/judge-orders-foi-release-of-universal-credit-it-reports/
