Well done Ali & Doddy.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed..... it's less than 6p per fan. .....just think if everyone at the ground had given just 20p. We'd have more than doubled that.
I know it was a bad time of the year, and volunteers were thin on the ground - I just hope folks who didn't get chance to donate will help shift it above the £1,000 mark by donating online or via Supporters Trust Office.

I think the problem was that Ali didn't have enough collectors, and from personal experience, without that its impossible to get to every fan...

The ones who said they were helping and didn't know who they are !!!

Fantastic effort from all who gave their time and effort, WELL DONE

    That's great.
Put it this way, there was a guy outside East stand turnstiles (who did a brilliant job), but he could only cover a couple of turnstiles .... we were just inside the concourse & walked up & down for an hour & a half (with a couple of sneaky stops to check the scores(!), but it just wasn't possible to cover the whole area. Shame, with say 5 more volunteers we'd have made a much bigger impact.

I couldn't find anyone collecting the other week when they were suppose to have been out. This time I found a women collecting, outside, under the North-Ponty end floodlight area. Gave my young lad a £5 to stick in.

If I wasn't on the lookout and knew what they were collecting for, it would have been easily missed. Could have done with some sort banner or poster.

There was never a collection the other week and so that is why you wouldn't have seen us. No idea where you got that info from

People on here knew about it. Also been in the Chronicle twice - on the back page last week, and managed to get it mentioned on Barnsley World during the Burnley game. The club put it on the website for us also so it has been quite publicised

I have tried and i know Ali has to get Radio Sheff to mention it - nothing. A few emails to Dearne FM to mention it - nothing. If the local media couldn't help then what could we do?

If all the people that said they were going to help did turn up then we would have had all areas covered and so could not have been miss. We had it all arranged of who will stand where but that all went up in the air when they didnt turn up

And if anyone used the corner/floodlight turnstiles at in the Ponty End and say that they didnt see anyone they must be blind. I was stood there from 1:50 until kick off and believe me you could not miss me. Ask Biglil and Jedi one who stopped to speak to me

I still thank all who did donate, and volunteer to help

I came in through the Ponty End/Corner stand turnstiles at 2.40 and didn't see anyone even though I was looking.

No worries, I've donated online instead.

Will the bucket collection be added to the online total?

I thought considering the credit crunch, Christmas has been, NYE is nearly upon us, lack of bucket collectors and having two good away matches to go to with Burnley and West Ham, that the amount raised was very good. A lot more than what's collected usually for other causes.

There was only myself at the other end near the bookies. The bit where they all go out for a *** at halftime. I was stood bang in the middle of the Ponty End building entrance

As has been said if numbers were higher we had intended to put somebody at the top of the steps at the far side of the Ponty

And yes the bucket collection will be on the justgiving website but will be in the "offline donations" section as we are unable to gain gift aid from that bit

I have had the full blown flu but kept up my obligations on Sunday.

Doddy has had to work extra hard keeping you all up to date.

    Cheers for that

It is a good idea but we would have had to have permission from WHUFC, which i think would have been hard. And another is our volunteers down there would be minimal. I for one are unable to go to the ground as my little un is on his way in the next few weeks

You could pass the message over to the Hammers boards you go on to donate via the www.justgiving.com/fansforiainhume website

    Cheers for the comments though

And yeah, Sheff Utd and Chris Morgan can rot in hell. I think there will be a lot of anti Sheff Utd songs being sung on Saturday

And a nice join with the "STand up for Iain Hume" chant would be great from you guys
