He appologises for taking a while to respond. Waffles on a bout how important he thinks the respect campaing is ... surely the whole subject has gone over his (office juniors) head then.

    Ends up saying he would (obviously) sign it, but there's a convention that party leaders don't sign early day motions.

    So as I suspected, having a such a high profile MP isn't any advantage, in fact it's proably a disadvantage because they are busier than the average MP so they take ages to reply, and they can't do some of the stuff a bog standard MP would ... great.

    I might write back and suggest that if he ever gets enough people to decide he's capable of being in charge and make the rule,s he should think about a system where party leaders and senior cabinet members get to relinquish their consituency duties. That way the people they are meant to represent can get someone who will in fact be able to represent them, freeing them up to get on with their oh so important high profile job.

    You poor Barsteward..

    having to live where there are enough pillocks that;

    A) Elect a Tory
    B) Having decided on A, proceed to elect David fecking Cameron

    I agree on the passing on of constituency responsibilities though. I also believe that no political party should actually be able to nominate candidates.

    As I told you yesterday...

    they are not "my" Labour Government. They are not "my" Labour Party.

    But still, Better Pinkish than Tory fecking Blue.

    Get shut of the lot. One party, if not no party state.

    Great result today!!

    It does make going to vote a bit pointless

    They could pin blue rosette on a monkey and he'd get in. Mind you it's better than living down the road, where they could have pinned a red rosette on a monkey and it would have got elected.

    At least now my car doesn't get broken into quite as much and the insurance has halved in cost (without any shopping around or getting a better no claims).
