Just liteneing to Football Heaven on deedar (iPlayer) and a Reds fan has just nominated Ian Bank as best player!!!!

    Better than Glav?
    Better than Mick McCarthy?
    Better than Neil Redfearn?
    Better than Tommy Taylor?
    Better than Craig Hignett?

Probably a few more like De Zeuwe, John Hendry, Fjortoft etc.

    I don't think so.

Great player, I'll always remember him as part of the greatest side we ever had, including the prem side, but individually not the best. Wish we had him know?

    Agreed

That 81/2 team was definitely the best I've seen, full of grit, work and flair in the right proportions. And yes I'd have Ian Banks in the team today - but not as he was when he came back in 89.

If he could have kept the weight off he would have been one of the best. He did play in the top division for Leicester.

My fave Barnsley player at the time first time around. He was crap when he came back though. P.s. This is in response to your original posting Jay.

Actually it's in response to the original posting. It's confusing on the phone in that it displays who posted last, not who originated the thread!
