Can recall name but cant recall watching him. Anyway came across him as he holds the achievement of being the first person to win the FA Vase as both player and manager with Whitley Bay. Won it a couple of times more as manager as well. Just some useless info to while away the day.
I remember him - think he played around the same time as Darren 'the chest' Foreman. Think chandler scored a hat trick against hull but he wasn't anything special
I vaguely remember him, I think he scored on his debut but that’s about as much as I recall about him.
Scored the 3, and we thought we had a real winner. I believe he only scored one orher goal for the first team
Just checked him out on Wikipedia and you're right. He scored four goals in his first twelve games then never played for us again.
I was told that in the days of Chandler and Foreman; there was a posh do somewhere in Barnsley - Town Hall or summat. It was a best bib 'n tucker type do but Chandler (not being the brightest) was made to understand (by Gwyn Thomas if memory serves) that it was fancy dress, and he turned up as Charlie Chaplin.
I think that he holds the record for being the only player I can find who scored a hat trick of equalisers in the Hull match. He equalised at 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3 before Andy Duggan got an injury-time winner there. Anyone else know of any league player scoring a hat trick in equalisers?
Didn't he score a hat-trick at Hull? New Years day I think, up to then we'd only won 4, but only lost 4 more to the end of the season.
We lost the first six games of that season (1986/87), too After losing the the previous season's strike force that summer (Ian Walsh, David Hirst & Gordon Owen).
