Very interesting and funny bloke to listen to. He's the guy who lost his daughter last year in a drowning tragedy.
He's done a book about what music means to you and how it becomes a soundtrack to your life, a series of unrelated anecdotes. Dunno if its in his book, but he went on to tell a story about when the Three Degrees appeared at Wakey Theatre Club.
Apparently, after the show in the early hours of the morning, they got taken out for breakfast to the ?Redbeck transport Cafe in Wakey. At 4am, Lorry drivers were coming in on their way to the A1, to be greeted by the sight of the 3Ds sat at a table, still in their spangly frocks and big afro hair, tucking into a fry up. The cafe is so popular that it doesn't even have a lock on it, it's been open continuously since 1963. There was also summat else about Jimmy Hendrix appearing in Ilkley, falling foul of the noise abatement lobby and ending up having to queue up for fish and chips in Harry Ramsden's.
Good early morning listening for once.

Redbeck Blimey!! That's brought back some happy memories!! Enjoyed many a fry-up there in the early 80's, usually stopping on the long walk back to Crofton after a night clubbing & an all-nighter back at someone's house. We'd be sat there in club clobber, looking like ****, tucking into the works with all these grizzly truckers & bikers tekkin' t'piss.
The Agbrigg lads were allus in theer - travelled to loads of away games with 'em.
Happy days.
