I've got admit I weren't over keen on him last season, Last night he played as good as any player I seen for us in a long while. He had everything passion, vision, control and a desire to win every ball. There's a proper Captain in the making the first since Neil Redfern.

You weren't over keen on him last season?

That's probably because he was in hospital...

Cant remember seeing him play better.

I think last nights performance went some way to removing any doubts to wether hes the same player since his injury.

    On that showing hes better!

Hume just needs to score a goal. He made me laugh when he got pulled and then he had a right go at the lino.

Are you being serious? He only played about ten games last season before he had his skull caved in.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned it

Perhaps that elbow he got against Swansea, whilst obviously insensing him at the time, has pschycologically released him from any fear he had about getting whacked again. He wouldn't have come back if there was any doubt but I don't think that anyone will have deliberately elbowed him like that in training.

Hume's work rate over the past couple games against Swansea & Burnley has been outstanding, he looked really sharp the other night close to scoring against a Premier League defence. Would love to see him as next captain at Barnsley.

Think Hammills performance on Tuesday night was outstanding also in first half he ripped Eckersley to bits & they had to take him off cos was so poor & in second half whenever he had ball Burnley put two players on him.

good point, however, it was on the other side of his head, but maybe it has eased the fear like you said cos although he went in with his head he did seam to do it half heartedly, but after that went for everything he could, and the keeper and defence didnt have an easy time with him chasing everything down

Serious about what? Hume looks a completly different player at the moment with his hard work the football players there too. At the start of last season he ended up on the wing because he was inaffective up front.

I was making the point that its a bit harsh saying you were disappointed with him last season when he only got to play part of the season. Wasn't he our top scorer at the point he was injured?

It didn't wash with that referee either did it ? Your Mr Hume's starting to earn himself a reputation for accusing players of deliberate elbow. It's a bit rich coming from somebody who was himself sent off at Scnuthorpe for use of the elbow. Nice to see him playing again though and trust that Chris Morgan along with his team mates and supporters for that matter will not be targeted in "revenge" for events last season when we visit for our forthcoming league match
