Wants us to feel sorry for injured players, oh what hardship they must be going through!

My favourite quote is "Nothing to be happy about, even seeing your wife and kids"

If he was talking about lower league players I'd understand a little more but the amount these two are being paid (was going to say earning) I think they'll be ok!

I don't think it's a money thing, though, is it. Injured players are still getting paid, so if they're unhappy, it surely means they just want to play football. I'd rather have a team full of lads that actually ENJOY playing than those who are in it just for the wedge.

It is when it comes to a life after football, last I heard of Carl Barrowclough he had gone from the prospect of being a professional footballer to being a lorry driver, not that being a lorry driver is a bad job, it's just a world away from where he would have liked to be.

Get a long term injury and you could be the forgotten man though. Less in demand and potential employers unwilling to take a risk on an injury prone player. Could be potentially career threatening. Not to mention the day to day problems of carrying a serious injury.

I can understand where he's coming from.

Totally agree with him to be honest. I imagine the vast majority of professional footballers love what they do and want to be out there playing. That's why they've reached the levels they have. To be out of that all of a sudden for 6, 9, 12 months, must be mentally very tough. I don't think money comes into it.

Feel sorry for them now, nobody wants to be forgotten. I don't think Sturridge and Wiltshire will be forgotten any time soon though.

Man's a joke. Laughed loads at the attached image- complete disassociation with reality. Don't get me started on his Le Corbusier punditry glasses that I'm sure he thinks make him look intelligent and refined.

Agree with him. I hate been injured. Mates going for a game & I can't join in. Must be even worse when you're missing out on the chance to play in packed out stadiums
