Barnsley have signed Iceland international Emil Hallfredsson and the player will make his debut against Coventry.</p> The 25-year-old midfielder has signed from Italian side Reggina for the rest of the season and Simon Davey is expected to throw him straight in for the visit of the Sky Blues.

&quot;Emil has now joined us on loan until the end of the season and we are delighted to have brought him to Oakwell,&quot; Davey revealed.

&quot;He has experience of playing at the very highest level both in Italy and with Iceland and will be a valuable addition to our squad.&quot;
