This to me is a time to blood young players, they'll be under no pressure. How often do you get the chance to do that, other than at the end of a season when you've nothing to play for. We might find a nugget who'll give us further options in the playoffs. Preston away and the top team at home are ideal fixtures to see what we've got.
Was going to follow up with “massive bonuses” but then that shouldn’t be limited to those players it should be for everyone involved that has made this possible.
Would definitely manage the game time of certain players so they are fresh for the playoffs but also wouldn’t want to go into them on the back of two defeats .
It’s a difficult one though isn’t it because momentum is huge going into the playoffs. I trust Big Val to do what will work best for our group of players.
I wouldn’t rest them for both games & I don’t think Morris needs a rest but I think more importantly it would be useful for Adeboyejo, Chaplin, Kane (if fit), Williams, Walton, Oduor, & Kitching (if fit) to get a start in the next two games just so they’re a bit sharper if required to start in any of the play off games
The beauty of a young team is that they'll want to play as much as possible. Up to Val to manage the best way of doing it.
This is just nonsense really though isn't it? It might feel like that's the case to fans, but we won what was it like 7 in a row earlier in the season
Bad move. You don't take the foot off the pedal in these situations. It's been shown time after time that it doesn't work. Keep the momentum going.
Wouldn’t be resting anyone. Ismael didn’t rest anyone for the Tranmere game in the fa cup saying he wanted players to stay in the rhythm of playing regularly. Can’t see this being any different. Circumstances might affect how he uses his subs though
