I'd like to think I've been reasonably positive recently... BUT

That was a complete embarrassment, total shambles. I feel really sorry for the Barnsley Player guys who had to commentate on that... it's awful describing such a shocking display.

    1. We showed West Ham FAR too much respect - just let them run the game, pretty much score when they want.

    2. The only players that deserve better than a 4 would be Cotterill and Higginbotham who at least tried to conjure something up.

    3. The only way we had a chance of winning was to get stuck in and have a go - we did neither. I watched Reading v Leeds earlier - Reading beat West Ham last week remember - I thought Leeds' tactics were shabby, time wasting, feigning injury etc, but at least they worked hard, got stuck in and made Reading work for the win.

Barnsley are never going to be the best team in the world, I know that, and it's not simply losing that gets to me, it's when we roll over and die against teams who we seem to think we have no right to be on a pitch with.

Look at the win over Chelsea, the 2-2 draw at home to Newcastle when they were runaway champions - we took the game to them and caused them trouble.

Today was a sorry sorry sight I hope I don't see often again - it being live on BBC just made it worse.

Roll on the end of the season.

don't see all this about cotterrill. gave the ball away countless times, then stood and watched mcartney stroll past him for the 4th goal. not 1 player deserves credit

I didn't say he had a 'good' game but he did better than most.

Sorry, disagree Journo. Cotterill was a passenger. And a passenger than gifted them the third goal.

Don't apologise - just an opinion. Not saying he did no wrong... watching it I thought if anyone might create something it was him and/or Higginbotham.

Thought Smith worked really hard, mostly to little effect unfortunately...

I thought Higginbotham looked a threat when he got the ball. Unfortunately, it seemed as though he didn't have a clue that he was meant to be playing left midfield, and that left Golbourne exposed numerous times.

I think nearly every post on this board since the match is showing complete disrespect to West Ham. We didn't roll over and die. They pressed us from the first whistle and played decent football. They're third in the league for a reason, and it's got bugger all to do with other teams being scared of them.

It's all well and good saying Reading scored a number past them, but look where Reading are in the league and compare their quality with ours.

West Ham were better than us all over today. Sometimes, you just have to admit you were beaten by a better team. I thought the result flattered them in the end, but there's no denying they were better than us, and so they should be, considering each of their players will have been on wages that are much more than we can hope to offer.

We took the game to Chelsea and Newcastle, but it helps when the opposition have an off day. When you come up against top sides and take the game to them, more often than not, they'll beat you.
