I'd love 15 minutes with Keith to quiz him

    My questions would be:

    1. Bobby Hassell had to convince 3 managers before you that he was the best right back at the club. If you had done so much research on the players and prozoned them to death then what does he have to do to prove you he is still the best defender we have? Because he is.

    2. Jay Mc couldn't defend before you came to the club, so what makes you think he can now defend and pass straight - because he quite clearly can do neither

    3. Defensive midfielders are just that - to stop the other team attacking. Doyle is perfectly good at it - so why do you need two of them - it drastically reduces the quality we have going forward which at a guess is what you need when playing keep ball and pass and move.

    4. Perkins isn't a winger. We have zero width. Why are you playing him there just to shoe horn him into the side.

    5. Haynes isn't a winger. He isn't a target man either who can hold the ball up.

    6. Why have you taken all the skill out of butterfield's game. He's best attacking midfielder we have - let him do it, not stiffle him and make him pass it first time every time.

    7. Whats your plan B? Im not convinced you have one. Its clearly not working - especially against a team we hammered last year.

    8. Have you spent the Shackell money? Did you ever have it? The quality at this club now is drastically reduced from last year and most people dont believe its enough to keep us up - how can you address that?

Your signature makes your views on Howard clear but we need someone of his ilk.

    Doyle - zero creativity
    Addison - zero creativity
Perkins - not a creative bone in his tiny body
Butterfield - best attacking midfielder at the club. Terrifying but I believe true. He is OK and has had a big impact in a handful of games but got lost in so many more. He is not and, nor in the timescale we need it (ie yesterday), going to become the talismanic midfielder we so desperately lack.

Nevertheless, I'd start at the back. The defence were utterly abysmal last night. Steele kept the score in single figures. Wiseman better than Hassell, don't make me laugh. Foster was one of our weakest first team regulars last season but the looks best we've got this. Edwards looks shocking - direct replacement for Shackell? My knob end.

As for Jay Mac, he was a ***** fullback who offered something going forwards. The problem is, all he does, repeatedly, is overlap with the winger and punt the ball into the mix in the 18 yard box. Which was great when we had players in the 18 yard box. Now we don't, he still does it just the same and shrugs as though he's done his bit and it's the strikers' fault for not being there. I know he's come back from injury but he looks like someone mended him using body parts from Paul Gibbs.

We will not keep a clean sheet all season without a rebuild at the back. Then we can look to an attacking midfielder to create something and hopefully a striker to finish it. We look a hell of a long way off Championship standard so far. There has been a stated intent to reduce reliance on loan players. However if this is the standard of players we have on contract then 3 or 4 loanees needed immediately.

Brilliant posts, Revvie and Dan. Specific points to analyse instead of just panic and moaning. Except that the McGibbsenstein Monster has just made me soil myself

Well, Hill said he like the face to face thing why doesn't the club have a civilised fans forum, no not the supporters club members only - a supporters forum in the executive lounge. Clear the air a bit.

    Spot on, just add this

    # if we are supposed to be playing a quick passing game, why select a player in midfield who continually hides from the short pass. Addison on a number of occasions moved to a more "marked" position, and never offered himself for the ball.
Pass and move? The only person who successfully did that all game was R N L .

We kept a clean sheet against Forest, its goals we need and to score them you need players and the ball in or around the oppositions 18 yrd box, I don't know if Prozone tells Keith that but having watched football for 45 yrs I believe it to be true
