    ...on last night in general, Wayne Rooney, and how we compare to Germany.

    Why? So you can take the piss? It would be more constructive if you gave your opinion on these subjects.

    He's generally able to see the silver lining in any cloud when it comes to England, but I think even he would struggle with last night.

    My opinion? We were *****, Rooney was ***** and shouldn't play for England again, and we are light years behind Germany both in terms of our league/coaching setup and the national team's performance.

    Germany haven't particularly impressed, of
    the remaining teams I'd say it's been Italy, Poland, France, Belgium, that'd be my last 4.

    I wish we hadn't impressed like Germany, who haven't condeded a goal yet and made easy work of a team we drew 0-0 with.

    At times, I thought the Germans looked great. They've broken down teams that came to defend (Slovakia) by having a shape, a plan and a set of players desperate to do well.

    As LDRed said, I wished England were as unimpressive as them.

    Is that the same Germans who haven't conceded a goal yet and thumped Slovakia 3-0?

    We are way behind the Germans in both Country and their football league...

    Is it somet like 70% that play in the German top League who are actually German?

    Eventually the penny will drop - having so few English players playing both in top flight, and most importantly European cups, limits the pool of players and competition.

    Until they can break free from the billions of sky, Which they won't, we will never be a quality team compared to the rest of Europe. Let alone the world.

    But I wasn't comparing to us. I think Italy will beat them.
    But Germany are still light years ahead of us, we are Sunday league in comparison, but there are better teams than Germany in this competition.

    That's what really ****s me off. That is their plan to solve a problem so unrelated to b team.

    We are in a blessed position of having 4 competitive leagues. No other European country can compare. The only problem is the first, and increasingly second, league are made up of players from other countries.

    We should end youth hoarding. Players should not be cherry picked at 8 or 9 by big academies. Money should be more evenly distributed through the pyramid, every team should field at least 6 English players. I don't care if the premier league is not the best in the world. I don't understand how a lad from London or Manchester can possibly feel connected to watching 9 or 10 multimillionaires from other countries jog about. But suppose that's the point. They are now supported by fans from all around the world.

    It actually disgusts me that over a century of footballing history is slowly being destroyed by the greed of an increasingly 'elite' group of foreign owned clubs.

    Exactly, while the Germans, French etc focus on producing players, Scudamore and his Sky cronies only focus on producing money, which they then blow on average imports who the top European teams wouldn't touch with a bargepole.

    Not sure about the logic here, there weren't that many foriegn players in the top flight in the 70's and 80's and England were turd then.

    since we won the World Cup in 1966 only Brazil (3), Argentina (2), Italy (2), Germany (3), France (1) and Spain (1) have won the World Cup.

    Top European league home grown players;

    Spain 56%
    France 53%
    Germany 50%
    Italy 43%
    England 35%

    And from a report in 2015;

    In 2014, just 23 English players were playing Champions League football. That compares with 78 Spanish players, 55 from Germany and even 51 from Brazil – and the numbers will only get worse.

    It really isn't rocket science. Do we want a world class football league or a world class international team?

    Either way they'll find a way to **** over the lower echelons on the football pyramid.

    Picking **** players or unfit players for England however and making them think they are international class also does not help.
