Local lad. Red through and through! Versatile. Let's face it, he's a regular in a Champ club. Talk about geeing the young lads up. He was doing that to the older pros when he was a kid. Ps he's not bad at footy either, knows his limitations and plays within them. No fancy dancy *****! That signing would make Stunty a blowk!

 

How much extra would it cost to sign him with his shadow? It'd probably be worth it as otherwise he'd look really odd when the sun's out.

 

Who was it that shipped him out because of the drinking culture? I thought that was harsh on a local lad who was full of spirit (see what I did there). I remember Harry Bassett saying that Anthony, 'would play in the Premiership, hopefully for us.' There has been a lot of water under the bridge since then and I would love to see him back at Oakwell.

And if I was in charge of recruitment, on me whiteboard I would have the name of every Barnsley born player who plays in the top four divisions ... and I would make sure that I knew the story of everyone of them. (and I'd have Mick's name at the top).... I'd invite them to pop in for an Acorn at Redders if they have a free Tuesday evening. I'd let them know that we are proud of Barnsley lads (no matter how many ficticious pies they ate)...
